Liked Barlaser, but he faded a bit mid season and the opposition twigged his ‘trick’ of suddenly reversing direction with the ball.
Hope Joe Pritchard, new attacking midfielder, will fill that bill.

Please correct me anyone if I,m wrong on any of the following contracts for players can be reviewed at anytime if the manager wants to keep a player or wants a fee if suspected interest in said player can be offered a better deal, examples lately at Stanley McConville and Finley. At the end of a contract if you don't want the player you release them as in the case of the five just gone, as for others there are options or you have been offered a new deal if you refuse to sign as his your right and this is were I,m not sure come June 30th you are a free agent and no longer an employee of the club.

Club can do a contract where the option is in their favour;
e.g offer a 1 year guaranteed contract plus an extra year at end of it at clubs discretion if they want to keep the player or not. (similar to what we've got on Callum Johnson, offer 2 and a half year deal when he signed in Jan 2018 with an extra year option in clubs favour) We obviously want to keep Callum, so will activate the extra year so he is still under contract. If we didn't want to keep him, we wouldnt activate the year option.

Specifically Clark and Conneely.
Their contracts expire 30 June 2020.
The club can offer them a new contract and its the players decision whether they sign or reject.
The Club may choose not to make an offer at all.
In theory they have been entitled to speak to other clubs since January.
They can still reject the contact and not sign for anyone else so effectively unemployed.
Their final pay day is end of July.
All this talk about reduced contracts is just that.
There isn't a hope in my opinion of either player signing a contact to earn less and despite pessimism being expressed about football in general I would guarantee that both players would get offers elsewhere at least equivalent to their current deal.
The club also has to consider how to replace them and at what cost.

I don't know what is going on this is a forum for fans thoughts and especially in these times it's been a scource of breaking tedious days up, just my opinion usually in life people naturally go for pay increases wouldn't have thought footballers any different, looking from the outside looking in I think they have been offered something and they have until June 30th to decide.

Nope. Didn't say that.
I know the player involved. If he gets offered more money elsewhere, would he want to uproot his family? Not quite as black and white as just moving for more money, no matter what people seem to think.
Also consider his life after football. What does he want to do, where does he want to be. Luckily, the player is very switched on with things like that.

Again not quite as simple and straightforward as that Andy.
A player could be offered a deal and told they will be a squad player.
That player may take less money elsewhere to be a more regular starter etc.

I would put my house on at least a few of the ones not released leaving before a new season start.

Let's see who gets an offer first ........ if anyone !
Futures to be decided for

Barclay
Maguire
Zanzala
Clark
Conneely
Hughes
Jonson
Rodgers

Not on the released list but either out of contract 30/6 or on one year options to be decided by Coley.
Be madness not to exercise options on Hughes and Johnson and then if they do go at least there will be a fee.

Quite aware of all that no one will be privy to any of that apart from those involved all the rest is guess work and hearsay, but I might be wrong but assuming the rest have had an option triggered or been offered something new.

There's going to be a lot less money sloshing around for a while at least, and many owners will be very wary of offering silly money to lure people away until the way ahead looks a lot clearer. And there will be lots more out-of-contract players after a share of the money that is available. That said, it probably doesn't take very silly money to outbid what Stanley can/will/should offer someone, and undoubtedly some owners will be prepared to gamble. We shall see what we shall see - eventually!

doubt coley will have been stuck infront of the box for the last few weeks. at the end of the day we will have a side to compete when the season starts. one thing we do not want to get into is a situation of someone dragging their heals at the club and keep saying they would sign but backtrack at the last minute. then the club is in the position of only being able to what is left and might not be even their 3rd or 4th option at the best.

Dragging their heels ???
You do know its 13 June today and contracts expire on 30 June !!!
With respect and for all right and proper reasons maybe its the club that needs to get a move on ?
If you read back a poster has said that Coley will not be doing any business until the date the season recommences is announced and in what format.
So by then its patently obvious that the best will already be sorted and maybe the second best etc .......... but isn't that how we've always dealt in pre season ??

Correct mate.
If we exercise our options will any club be prepared to pay a fee for Johnson or Hughes ?
Competing with our wage structure isn't a problem to quite a number of clubs - even when they're tightening the belt.

This isn't a normal pre season though is it after June 30th any new signings meaning from outside of what we have won't be subject to furloughing rules with no date or wether crowds will be watching next season to me it's common sense to wait and not incur extra expenses, don't think Stanley will be on their own either some clubs will gamble always will maybe will steal a march on better players but Stanley have made thier intentions clear.

I think Aaron lost confidence as soon as Peterborough came out of their winning run. Coley and Jimmy have proved many, many times how they can reinvigorate the confidence of players who have drifted into the wilderness. Aaron would not necessarily be the automatic first choice for many Stanley fans but, if we are struggling to sign on a couple of decent keepers, he could still be a good signing for us at the right cost, in terms of salary. A fully confident Aaron Chapman is a pretty good goalie IMHO.

compared to evtimov he is international standard. the former is to goalkeeping what zanzala is to clever forward play and balance.

Aaron is definitely a confidence player & it would be good to see him back but it was reported when he left for Peterborough that they'd offered him 3 x the wages we were paying him, I doubt he'd be willing to take that much of a cut

Ouch!, that's a bit harsh on Dimi

I liked Aarron great lad great personality wasn't the best keeper at low down shots but during John,s long tenure Goalkeeper and left back for some reason been problematic positions often leading to both positions being occupied by loannees, Joe Jacobson was probably the last really good permanent left back we had as for goalies not many that wer,nt loannees stand out for me so good luck John in finding a good replacement Savin looks ok but as with any youngster time will tell.

We should have signed Nick Anderton when we had the chance.

Not a bad player wages would have been an issue should imagine a bit injury prone as well.

Go on then?

When did we have the chance ?

Highish wages, fee paid to his former club, loan signing to ASFC authorised in the strangest manner ever and then an injury.

Cracking lad in his spell with us, but when some sense returned at Bloomfield Road he wasn't ( to my knowledge) coming our way at that stage

When a player isn’t wanted by his parent club then anyone can make an offer?
A bit touchy that response Mark ?

If you’re saying he was too expensive - Wages and a fee that’s fine.

Correct Di.
He got himself a cracking deal.
Cant see him taking a 60% cut ........ but then again if no offers .......

Reply not meant as "touchy"

Reply was that he came our way as a "result" of "strange issues" at his parent club.

IF he wasn't wanted by the then Manager at his parent club in Jan, why wasn't the loan extended ?? And why (from memory) was FA Cup permission not given to ASFC?

My thoughts remain, parent club "politics"

Couldn't blame the lad one bit just shows how some clubs though are prepared to pay vastly superior wages at our level for pretty mediocre players, no disrespect to Aaron but he isn't a world beater but you grab what you can when you can.

its not as if players are not wanted its to give em match play with another club. if a manager cannot offer anyone regular game time i thought it was obvious. just like stanley send lads out on loan.

wonder if both lads have been released on financial grounds and not actually how they performed on the pitch.

Rawson played over 80 games in his two seasons at fgr and don't think they are without money due to owner, Buxton struggled again with fitness and weight shame good player.

That's anyone's guess but with talk of in league 1 a salary cap of 2.5 million and a senior squad of just 20 players maximum that's 480 players to be given a job same in league 2 so managers some with probably players tied to contracts they don't really want are maybe juggling for what could be limited space in the squad by letting go some they normally might have offered a deal strange times.
