I should think the beer barrels in the club house won't attract any bidders should they go under the hammer. Although there is always a demand for laxatives and rat poison.

Re: observer auction

Why does it always take an uproar on a forum to make them write something on the website in response... why cant they just put it anyway??????

Auction advert in local press
Accrington Stanley is aware of an advert in the local press regarding a public auction of a number of the club's assets.

This relates to our month nine HMRC payment of around £32,000 that was due on 22nd January. It is no secret that we have had problems with our cashflow due to several postponed matches and with two of our major sponsors going into liquidation, and for this reason the bill was not paid on time.

We have paid a total of £23,000 of the debt, the remaining amount will be paid on Monday and the auction will not go ahead.

Transparency ??

Article in this mornings Bellylaugh reports 'Stanley Windfall' will help to meet tax bill.

They have received the 20k from Scunthorpe for Bobby Grant's appearances. Not sure if this was part of the 23k paid or it's next months

I feel totally scammed by this. I saw the billboard and was curious, 43p for a paper thinner than a Kleenex tissue

Re: observer auction

Should've waited for the article to come on line Dave but on the bright side, if you tear it into nice little squares you could hang it on the tardis loo in case anyone gets caught short on a Monday or Wednesday

Re: observer auction

Surely if any assets are to be auctioned off the bailiff's must have been round to count and value these assets. The statement on the official site says that the auction is off but it does not tell us how it was arrived at in the first place. Rob Heys made a statement the other week stating that everything was under control, surely he knew about this auction then.

Re: observer auction

Probably so jeff, but was statement he made before the postponements? that could have a bearing? step back a min n think, the fact a statement like this is on fishy, fer my money is a first? so i think things are slowly goin in the right way, hope club have the nous to include it in next weeks beano, thus explaining to a wider public.
