If the above is related to my quote , I wasn't discussing . I was helping Gremlin and his query .

By the time I had submitted my reply , you had submitted yours unbeknown to me .

No problem . No discussion .

The photo most recently shown is of what is now Age Concern, but in former years was the Electricity Board shop, at the bottom of Burnley Rd. before there was a building here, it was the site of a communal well/water tap. In the photo it appears to be owned by the Corporation Electricity Department. The Gas & Water Board was at the bottom of St James Street between the Yorkshire Bank & Willow St.

Re posting 144, showing Accrington House - a Mr and Mrs Barnes are shown at the gate - I remember one of our members from abroad once had "Barnes" connections from this very house, so this is probably his family.

Re posting 142 showing Nuttall Street. The area of my youth. The wagon on the right hand side just hides the view of McCartneys off licence and on the LH side is The Star Pub, in which my grandad spent more time than he did in his own house! tee hee

Hahaha, Jaysay, does have a sort of resemblance to Cashy .. except the gentleman's height ... Cashy cannot be described as a 'short arse'.

I have always loved that 'photo of Accrington House, purely because of the dress that lady is wearing .. reminds me of the Quality Street adverts.

At the Wellington St end of Nuttall St were there houses through an archway ? They formed a square round a cobbled coutryard if my memory is correct .
