We should have a swing-o-meter, to record all the losses.

I don't dislike anyone at all, though I don't always agree with the actions of some people.

There is a vast difference there, though obviously that concept is beyond you.

As for Jaysay, he's someone I can have a laugh with via pm, as we did over yesterday's gaffe, and I'm sure his invitation to pop round for a brew still stands.

He is someone who understands the value of politics, but can put it into context.

A mistake was made, no more and no less, that's all.

No one died or was horiffically maimed as a result of that mistake.

...and besides you obviously missing the self-parody of the post that inspired you to write it, unlike everyone else on here, if it is true then I'd suggest you need to get out more, perhaps even join a library and therefore increase your chances of reading something that might truly be seen as stupid.;)

Yesterday's Overview and Scrutiny meeting about the budget was a 'Aren't we a wonderful administration' speech and when the Independent's report thanked the officers for their hard work in managing the council's finances - Peter took the credit for his cabinet.

In much the same way that Gorden claimed to be the savior of the World,:rolleyes:and always remember it doesn't matter a fig what Jones, Dawson and company say its what the independent audit says, end of, they have no political points to score, they just tell it as it is

Re: Anyone made a secret Freedom Of Info request about me ? Andrew?

I just thought that I'd clarify my comments last night, I've never objected to people claiming expenses who need them, I don't believe that financial position should be a issue when on the council, if you need the money and are entitled to claim it as an expense then good on you. I'm not using it as a stick to beat anyone with. I was just publishing on here the information that Andrew requested from the Council under the FOI act. I'm lucky, my Mum and Dad live just up the road from me so I don't need to claim for my daughter to be looked after because she goes to her Grandparents, last year I wasn't entitled to a mobile phone as only the deputy leader and leader of the opposition are entitled (I qualify for that this year but don't claim it as I already have a contract phone and it would cost me a fortune to get out of the 18 month contract), I didn't go to any conferences as I really do believe that you should only attend the conferences that will benefit your role on the Council and enhance your skills to do your job. I hope this explains more fully the comments I made last night, I wasn't being smug AT ALL, just answering the exact question that Andrew asked of me and all other councillors

Why not ? Did you not need to... or are you just a martyr and pay them out of your own back pocket ? Can't be doing with them ! Sets a precedence for those councillors who cannot afford not to claim .. :(

Think you may need a lie down Agent Katex, all these politicial conpiracy theories can't be good for the soul!:D

Since you're not fit to get to the meets, I will call for a brew soon, promise.

I might even bring a couple of custards.:)

Don't worry, yesterday's stitch has finally gone now, so I won't keep bringing what happened up (as much.):D

I know that is complete rubbish for a fact. AND to add to what I knew happened, I spoke with a senior Audit Commissioner (I was part of a mentoring thing) and he raised all his concerns to me and asked how come an average authority according to the scores got an excellent.

Smoke and Mirrors. Quite simply the public aren't fooled anyway.
