We 'bothering' enough for you yet?

Cheered you up?

No longer 'sad'.

Good.

Hello, I'm a new member and thought I'd introduce myself and say hello - I moved to Baxenden from Blackburn eight years ago and I really like the sense of community in the Hyndburn area. I've visited this site quite a few times, I love the old photographs and seeing how things have changed, and I thought it would be good to join the forum - so hello everyone!

Well, what are we supposed to make of that?

The area is full of riff raff that has a strong community spirit?

Life seems to be full of contradictions for some of us.
:p

We get that.

How would you change that?

You say 'nobody is really bothered about this issue'.

Trust me, this has been quite a fast moving thread for Accy Web, with many people expressing their opinion on 'this issue'.

I fail to see what more can be expected.

I do agree with you on one point though.

I think part of a stag night experience is travelling somewhere away from home.

The 'you don't defecate on your own doorstep' theory.

;)

Think your spot on with the stag night theory Rindi, when I worked at the Cav we had coach loads coming in every weekend from Manchester, Wigan, Liverpool, Leeds and even Sheffield on occasions

I really don't know how to change things, other than rather than playing to the lowest common denominator, Accrington should be trying to aim a bit higher? I'm sure that other residents of the Accrington area would like to be able to socialise safely in the town centre in the evening which is not really an option at present.

It would appear you don't really get out a lot, but look on any web site and you'll find that most towns are the same for night life, back in the 70s and 80s there wasn't a better place in England for a night out than Blackburn catering for all needs, to-day its as dead as a dodo, just take a look at Blackburn web and you'll see the same complaints as on here. Accrington isn't the only place either that is struggling overall, every day on news channels there are stories of failing shopping centres. You say that Accrington should be aiming higher, but to do that you need money, which if you'd noticed is in quite short supply at the moment;)

Depends what you want out of life really, myself it was just a little above naked barmaids and topless dancers, but no doubt that was the order of the day for young men growing up in Clayton:p

I'm pretty sure that the Top Hat club up at Sudell Cross was a bit.....how shall I put it? 'Interesting' at times....and that is going way back.

A bit interesting Margaret, there was a saying back in the good old days Wine Dine and Bleed at the Top Hat:D

What's the matter Kevin, Satan's cat got your tongue?

No whore like fees, for sharing your thoughts on here?

Don't like spouting off when you're on an even keel, and people have the ability to speak back?

Love to hear your moral objections to Big Bouncing Bertha's Bar and Grill.

Do pay attention.

No wonder you never liked watching strippers.

People only posted last night after being told off, that there wasn't enough attention being paid to the proposed lap dancing club, and the riff-raff it would attract.

We are an obliging lot.

Give, give, give.

Sorry if there was too much to wade through.
