Re: Today in pictures

Best bit was listening to the traffic reports in the heated cab on a frosty morning, I would hear reports of miles of tail backs on the motorways and roads blocked by bits of frost and all I could see were the herons on the fence post and other wild life. There were two families of deer which would stand still near there edge of the next field watching as I past. I always made sure not to cover them in slurry.

I wish I had took the offer of a job years earlier and get away from the rat race.

Sounds like a great job.

Nothing from me today, been a bit helter skelter of a day, but have just spent 30 minutes looking, and re-looking at all the pictures posted yesterday and today, and the stories that went with them, very enjoyable, and so variable, thanks everybody.

The Castle is at Cascina Breda dei Bugni - outside the village between Castleverde and Cremona (less than 1 km I think) it could be called Via Breda but i'm not 100% sure.

Yep discovered the castle once I knew where to look...

You couldn't get tea lights in the barnacles, the holes at the top are too small - I suppose you could take the bottom out and just use them as a cover over the flame. They would look nice with flowers in though.

4 Old tackle!

Could just see you in that little two wheeled trap pulled by one of your donkeys!

Di your pics of the farm buildings were fantastic, the buildings are beautiful such care taken over what at the end of the day is a building for keeping animals and animal feed in, brilliant. The arches in the "barn" would not be out of place in a cathedral, the milking parlor reminded me of catacombs:alright::alright::alright::hothothot

Thanks Dave -have been playing about with a seppia effect on some of the pics of the "old" farm. A few attached plus some taken at the Ulster folk museum a few years ago -lovely place to visit if you ever go to Belfast. The photo of the sweet shop I have put in colour too -a real Aladin's cave -bought loads of old-fashioned sweets!

Final pic of Castelverde church seen from the new barn.:hothothot
