Today in Pictures, there was nothing to snap today that I haven't posted before, so just a few self indulgent snaps.

Susie, nice to meet you here and welcome back from your jollies. It looks like you had an amazing time. Thanks for sharing your photos with us, which are bill.

Thanks Dawn, they may go on a bit as we visited seven places, all very different. Try not to get too bored!

Self indulgent maybe, but truly capture the essence of Autumn.

Some flowers etc today to finish off my pics from Madeira.

  1. Strelitzia (Bird of Paradise), sadly not in flower
  2. Short palm tree looking as though someone has dumped a cauliflower on top
  3. Yucca in bloom
  4. Not an alien life form -dead leaf off a palm tree
  5. Agapanthus - they grow wild by the roadside but were just about at the end of the flowering season
  6. Spiky plant of some kind
  7. Floral wall opposite the ship
  8. Very tall palm tree

Thanks Cashy, keep checking this thread for more pics of my travels. The ship was a bit different from those you're used to - quite small (800+ passengers),fairly crowded public rooms and lots of old farts! The food was OK but nothing to write home about. Most people dressed formally even on the casual nights! We are used to an even smaller ship, Discovery, more geared to "adventure" cruising. Still, it was a good trip and I enjoyed the days on shore. Got very tired so was glad of lots of time between stops to recharge my batteries in the cabin.

Nice horticultural perambulation there, the stuff I used to look after in the greenhouses as an apprentice. No 6 taking a punt at Agave

Thanks for the support, and to the others who liked the picture, I was just messing about and didnt give the picture much thought, I have changed my mind now thanks to the possitive comments, and church even suggested rotating the image, and he is right, I will post the image on flickr when I get my act together.
