I was gasping like a stranded cod fish when we got to the top, they were hardly breaking sweat.
So age alone isn't a barrier to such pursuits...but you need to have a like minded companion...and mine isn't like minded.

well i sweat buckets, just getting out of the car and putting my kit on lol

but if anyone ever fancies a walk on a fell but needs a walking partner for the day, just ask, as long as you dont mind stopping loads to take pics and just sit and admire, i take my time, its why i take the tent, can stop whenever i feel like it, sometimes i will sit at a summit for hours doing absolutely nothing, not even thinking about stuff, just looking, cant beat it and would recommend anyone get out there whatever the weather

so who is with me

I might take you up on the offer except I don't live local.

Maybe you should organise an Accy Web hike! ;):D

Today in Pictures, I could feel the drop in temperature.

1. Parked up, entered the Pines and found these straight away.
2. View from the bottom of the hill past Lower Dean reservoir.
3. Quick walk around the woods off to one side, this section of woods was that full of fungal infections last time I was here, I came away with thrush.
4. A crust fungi getting smothered by moss.
5. A look across Upper Dean Reservoir
6. Looking down across Lower Dean Reservoir.
7. I was caught up in the annual migration of the wildebeest, oh alright sheep.
8.Heading back up toward the Pines.
9.Then found these.
10. Then these.

I must blow the dust off my camera. It looks like I am missing some wonderful colour changes...and if I don't hurry up they will all be gone.

There are a lot of autumn colours around at the moment, but they have started dropping their leaves as the nights are getting colder so I think you are right.

thanks both for the nice comments, there are so many places I want to visit for autumn colour, I don't think I will get to them all. Still we have the snow shots to look forward to, or not, depending on your view of snow.

I LIKE snow........in photo's. On calendars, and on Christmas cards.
I'm not so fond of it in real life....I guess that might be because I'm older....young folk like snow. To them it is fun.

Snow does make horrible places beautiful....what I mean by that is, if you look at where Woodnook Mill was knocked down, it is an eyesore...but if you cover all the debris with a good fall of snow.......it would look like a mini version of the alps

Good work - Nice how they made that a nature reserve. Back in the 70's it was probably strewn with fly tipping! ;)
