Beautiful shots Dianne. Would love to visit the jewellery shop....it appeals to my ideals of 'something different'...when my ship comes in, I know where I am going to spend the money.
:D

A selection of shops across Bologna -food capital of Italy and generally great for shopping. The shop-fronts are always tasteful and in keeping with the towns history...
1-4 food shops in Viccolo Pescherie Vecchie (Old Fisheries Alley)
5 Cheese/salami shop Porta Nova
6 Art/decoupage shop
7 1912 jeweller's with original etched glass and Art Nouveau lighting
8 Ultra-modern Desiguel - Spanish women's designer clothes (William Morris panels in the doorway!)
9 Sweet shop in Piaza Santo Stefano
10 Pizzeria under 13thC beamed colonnades

Nice shop selection, I noticed there do not appear to be many people knocking about !

Today in Pictures, a rushed affair, as a trip to the dentist was required, with a broken tooth.

1. Lickety split up the canal to Pilkington Bridge.
2. Found a wickthing, there are not a lot about now.
3. On top of Pilkington Bridge looking toward Pendle.
4. Literally seconds from home, found these.
5. And these.
6. After teatime, over the fence.

it depends on what you call large ... in a way it is .. its from the main road ie haslingden road going into rawtenstall up to the road that goes past the ski slope .. theres tennis courts in there as well .. used to have an aerial slide up at the back when i was a kid :p

A selection of shots showing Santo Stefano in Bologna -amazing old church and ex-monastery which was mentioned by Dante as he visited it in 1284 (I think that was the date!) The brick work was beautiful and the font in one of the cloisters is dated to 730ad! It was incredibly peaceful -only a stone's throw from bustling Bologna center.

If anyone is interested this is a link to show the square and church in my photos!ItalyGuides.it: Piazza of Santo Stefano, Bologna Italy

It didn't hurt at all, but a big hole in a tooth is a thing you cant keep your tongue out off, and it was scratching the inside of my cheek, so it wanted sorting.

Nice arches again, tried the website, and the panoramic tour in full screen is just like being there, apart from the sun warming your bones.

Yes, I tried it too and felt like I had been on holiday, but with no packing and no passport control.......the downside...no tan and no duty free:(

It started a thought though, perhaps there is a website with a lot more, when I have a bit of slack in my curriculum I might have a mooch for one.
