Today in Picture, a bit of a one subject set today.

1. It was one of those pictures that was just asking for a tweak, so I tweaked.
2. Looking over to the Coppice and Hameldon..
3. The area is moist, messy and muddy.
4. Just a few droplets on a web.
5. From behind the site, toward town.
6. They must be expecting an Indian attack, they have circled the waggons.
7. Looking toward Haslingden, I think these are the same turbines that shillelagh posted, but not sure.
8. Looking back, as we descend back to the road.
9. That is a muddy smelly dog, the peaty stuff has a funny pong.
10. At this point we are yards from the car, and minutes from a bath.

At this time of year the male swan chases away the fully grown young, they like to get them out of their territory. That's probably what you saw.

Its a good job its not scratch and sniff, as he smelled like a blocked drain, the tweaked photo will eventually end upon flicker, will spend a bit more time levelling it off, it looks a bit downhill at the moment.

Its only close up you appreciated the size of these things, and I have to say I was impressed with the engineering of them

the ones i posted dave are the ones over grane road ... the sports centre is near enough in helmshore .. and thats the view from behind the sports centre. The church you see is what used to be St Stephens, Grane, and is now holden vale antique centre .. across from haslingden cemetary. I think the one you posted are the ones over scout moor .. that if you go to hassy tesco or come down the bypass them are what you see in the distance ...

Got it, I think the altitude gave me oxygen deprivation, to be honest I hadn't a clue where they were, but now you said it, I think you are spot on. Eventually all these wind farms will link up.

I took this one a while ago when they were changing the gear box on one over Kebs Road. It gives you some idea of the size and those are not as big as the ones near here.

Great shots over the last few days by Dave and Frank -lovely autumn colours, light and reflections -a feast for the eyes! K sent to Frank -Dave it won't let me send any though so many of your pics deserve it!
Am still not 100%, can't seem to shake of a nasty bug. Been busy on the farm -last 2 days -blood tests on mass in the herd (over 1000 animals so you can imagine.) Solid wind and rain yesterday -very Lanky! Today bright and clear but freezing -first snows on the Alps -may see if I can capture it tomorrow to show you!

Today in Pictures, slightly later than advertised due to todays walk putting my lamps out, and having to kip in the chair.

1. After parking in Barley we set off in the direction of Barley Green, ( no I didn't know it either ).
2. The lane led us to lower Ogden Reservoir. This is the first run off.
3. Looking back at Lower Ogden Res.
4. The stream that is the run off from Upper Ogden Res.
5. This is the aeration water run off, from Upper Ogden Res.
6. All this to get air in the water.
7. Looking back across the lower Res.
8. This was a must have shot, but couldn't take it without my shadow, I know, you are going to say didn't notice until you said, but just being honest.
9.Heading back, but circumnavigating the pine forest we came through on the way up, notice the climb up from the reservoirs.
10. Last one I can post, so one last look down the valley.
