hi all,
after not getting out much recently, i decided i wanted some nikwax, ready for the coming winter, £3 for a wash in one at winfields, thought about driving up there, but then i would have bought something else just to justify the drive, so decided to have a walk, wasnt a proper outing, so thought i would take my compact out, and leave the dslr at home. walk route, church, tesco in town, factory bottoms, and the hyndburn greenway, upto rising bridge, when i got there decided to walk via great hambledon, then the coppice, then back home. whilst i was out thought i would try out the panoramic on iPhone, and also a HDR app for iPhone decided i dont like the compact, and the dslr will have to come everywhere, not enough setting for me to play with and the pics seem.....flat, but here are some piccies i took, critique at will thanks |
Re: Today in pictures
I like my compact camera....I have a bridge camera as well.(Lumix G1)...it is a faff to carry it around for everyday walks(not been doing much of that recently though).
I don't think your pictures look 'flat' at all I like them...the berries look lovely and the landscapes are glorious. |

Re: Today in pictures
Very atmospheric.
There was a very colourful sunset here when I was coming back from daughters house, but I was too idle to go upstairs and get my camera. |

Today in Pictures, The walks at present are mucked up with fungi, so many I couldn't post them all. So adjusting the shoulder straps on my fungi detector, and putting the aerial to its full 2 meters, with a full set of batteries, away we went.
1. You wouldn't want this ramming up your hooter. 2. As we emerged from the Pine forest we spied Pendle Hill. 3. And around the bottom of Dean Clough Reservoir. 4. Going up the far side of the res the sound of rushing water provoked a mooch about, this is usually a little stream. 5. From this point the detectors klaxon kept going off. slime mould. 6. Never seen this before, they were all a pastel purple colour, and a large carpet of them. 7. Growing on the horizontal body of a dead tree. 8. Another horizontal tree. 9. There are a lot of horizontal trees in this area. 10. Back in the pine forest now, and heading to the car, you get a free wickthing with this snap. |
Best way to tell you where it is, is first find the Woodlands Home for the elderly in Clayton le Moors, which is situated at the crossroads of Whalley Road and Sparth Road/Warwick Ave. To the rear of the home is a wooded area that goes through to Bell Lane, going up Bell Lane brings you out on Burnley Road and here is where you will find the burial ground.
If you have Google Earth, put in postcode BB5 5RW, I thought you meant more over towards Padium area. The area is, where there was Clayton Hall (is that the right name) - I think was knocked down. |
Re: Today in pictures
Dave it's amazing the sheer variety of fungi you find. Looks like a good year for them, must be all the rain.
