Perfect reflections - you could turn those pics upside down! Love 9, and 10 - those cygnets look like they're in a hurry!

Looks like someone has cracked open a packet of Mothers Pride! :) But Hovis (Brown Bread) is better for them!

This ones a very old swan, notice the grey on the lump!

I thought that too! There were two cygnets plus mum and dad on the canal in Lancaster on Wed, sadly I had neither bread nor camera with me...

I think you should plant it at the bottom of the garden, feed it, water it, and in 50 years you might have some conkers on it.

That is a calm looking set of snaps you have there with nice reflections.

If we're doing Swan pictures, here are a couple taken on the Montgomery canal at Welshpool this Summer while on Hols. :)

Today in Pictures, I fell down a ditch, and slide on my posterior down a muddy slope so you don't have too.

1. I had only just parked the car at the top of Plantation Street, took five paces and found this, and yes, it is Giant Polypore.
2. On the same stump a Candlesnuff Fungi.
3. Then up the yellow brick road, we are not in Kansas now Toto.
4. Never saw this before, a mental note to return and mooch more around here.
5. Passing the Coppice as we ascended.
6. Looking back to the reservoirs.
7. Looking over to the windtwistles, with a Kestrel in hover mode.
8. Kings Highway, a short pause whilst I re-inflate my lungs.
9. Spotted this as we mooched around what used to be "Gamblers Caves" now just a hole in the ground.
10. This is a new one to me, or someone has dropped a surgical glove

That's OK then, I'm in my room now...

No camera today either, do I deserve more punishment? :whack::spank::hitting8:

Been out most of the day, fab clouds everywhere and went past the wind turbines off Grane road, not seen them before.

I wonder if I was taking my snaps when you went along Grane Road, I think a lot of people never thought they would be so visible when planning permission was granted, they are visible from everywhere.

I noticed that, anyone know why, is she just busy or what?

Passed them at 12.30 going south and again coming back about five o'clock.

Dianne's still doing the quiz, so she is about.

Re: Today in pictures

I took my wife for a little ride over Grane road yesterday and saw the wind turbines, they certainly are close to the road.
There is a nice little picnic area on the left going towards Haslingden where we stopped for an ice cream and I decided to take a few photos.
That's when I realised I had left my camera bag with camera, lenses and attachments on my drive when I helped my wife into the car.
Luckily we are at the end of a small cul de sac and the gear was still there and dry when we returned.
I am one lucky old codger.
The camera is a week old Nikon D3200 24 mps and it was to be its first outing.
The lenses are worth a few quids as well.

You certainly are! Still, it was a nice day for a ride out.

New camera eh? Look forward to seeing some shots when you remember to take it with you! Wonder if we passed each other on our trips yesterday?

Re: Today in pictures

Possibly, we went both ways over Grane road to the picnic area.
We were there about 3PM.
We intended going to the Helmshore textile museum butmy wife didn't want to get out of the car so that's when we decided on ice cream at the picnic area.
They do full breakfasts all day if you want one.
It's our first time there but no doubt we will go again.
I was amazed at the views From the top of Grane road, I can't remember going over before, if I ever did. There should be a car park with viewing area.

I said in an earlier post in reply to Dave we went south at about 12.30 and back about 5pm so you were there in the middle of that. Yes, the view on the way back looking over Blackburn and beyond to the Fylde is quite stunning.

I'd never been over that road till my brother moved to Belthorn about ten years ago. He can see that view from his house.

BTW did you see my reply to your query about my brother in the CB thread a few days ago?
