The other day when you posted that pic of Bob by the waterfall I said it reminded me of a trip we made in Norway. Have just dug out a few photos from there. We went on the Flam railway, very touristy, 20km-long train ride on one of the world's steepest railway lines on normal gauge. The gradient is 55/1000 on almost 80% of the line, i.e. a gradient of one in eighteen. It links the village of Flam at the top of a fjord with the main line to Bergen up in the mountains. We just went for the ride, there and back again.

Today in Pictures, a burst of activity before shopping, I usually go Wednesday, but this week has been all back to front.
1. Along the canal to the park. 2. Down Hygiene. 3. Round the park. 4. I went all giddy at this point, and dropped to my knees. 5. Out of the park at the Church end. 6. Grabbed a shot of this on the way past. 7. Up Checkers and spotted this, I must hunt out all of these, and post the collection, this will be a work in progress. 8. And after shopping this was over the back fence, unusual as these tend to pass me by. |

Today in Pictures, shooting off at a tangent.
1. The quest begins, and its bigger than I thought. 2. Not really knowing where they all are, I set off for those I did know of. Civic Centre. 3. Barnes Street. 4. Mercer Park. 5. Well there's always one. 6. OK, two then. 7. Transport House (just in Altham) 8..Whalley Road. This was a worry to photograph, as it was right next to a front room window, so took two shots to be sure and carried on my way. A man came out of the house, and I thought he was going to chase me down the road for looking through his window. However he was very nice about it, explained a few things about the plaques and gave me a pamphlet explaining where they all were, and it contained short notes as to why they were there. There are in total 13 of the "Signs of Life" 9. Atlas Street. That is my distraction for today the quest continues, eventually. |

We walked on the beach at Formby. It was very windy as you can see from Max's coat.
