I didn't stop out all that long though, it was not very pleasant, the rain was almost horizontal. I use the flat cap technique to keep my camera dry, but end up with a wet head.

Its a shame for max, hurting himself like that, as long as its only a strain, thats not going to take long to having him back up to working fitness. Plus it gives you a chance to keep out of this rubbish weather.

Today in pictures, a local walk, just a different colour.

It was a walk from Clayton through to Church, and back on the Dunkenhalgh Way to home.

Hi -haven't been on for a while and have just caught up with the photos -some gorgeous ones and great autun colours from everyone. Max, Dave and Jen -it won't let me give you any K...sorry! Church was luckier -looks like it was a spectacular walk. I was over in the lakes this time last year -am really envious...

welcome back Dianne.
Glad the pics gave you a taste of our autumn...though it is very wet and windy right now...there won't be many more leaves left on the trees now.

Is no 8 your dog? That is how I would see Max when he is older.

The dog was just passing leading a man so I just asked him if I could take his photo.
The dog replied "take one of me instead"

Margaret, number 7 slipped though the net. It wasn't at Castle Howard but across the lake taken from the lodge we rented at "Lakeside Lodges, York.
I will try to find some more, it is a very peaceful place a mile from York city centre and totally secure with about a dozen lodges.

Nice set there, and as Mrs P says, number 7 is one of those "wish I'd taken that" shots

Agreed -lovely reflections and colours in what looks like a real haven!

I bet it took a bit of patience to catch the peacock with it's feathers open too!

Re: Today in pictures

Believe it or not the Peacock was a right show off.
As soon as I pointed the camera at him he opened his feathers and posed.
I noticed he did the same when other people took photos.
