Yesterday, a trip to Ambleside for some retail therapy then on to Bowness for some dinner.

  1. Slate fence at the recreation ground, Ambleside
  2. Susie's been shopping... actually Richard bought me a lovely Herdwick sheepskin to sit on in the car
  3. Hill behind Ambleside
  4. Old hydrant indicator, Ambleside
  5. Cross-lake ferry and lots of geese, Bowness
  6. It's not quite Garda, Dianne...
  7. But not too bad for England in July!
  8. More of the same
  9. Waiting for dinner
  10. Must be on its way...

Lovely! Are they from your garden? (oops, sorry, I was referring to shillelagh's flowers - got to get the hang of posting etiquette!)

A couple of days ago, I was trying to work in my pottery studio. Road construction outside was getting annoying, so I went for a little walk down in the park. I took my camera, and these pics resulted. Even though they're not from the Accy area, I thought you might like to see where I live now - the outskirts of Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

1. Going down to the park level.

2. Queen Ann's Lace - at first I thought the red bit in the centre was a bug, but closer inspection revealed it to be red petals. All the flowers in this patch had that, I don't know if it's unusual or not.

3. Chickory, I think (got to learn more about Canadian wild flowers).

4. Going towards the river, dodging the noisy grass cutters and their gigantic machines.

5. Almost there.

6. A shady spot, but no picnic lunch today sadly.

7. The Credit River - a little muddier and running faster than it normally does this time of year. Due to the heavy rains of the past week, I think. Got my feet wet for this one! (inspired by dave mac)

8. They looked pinker in real life.

9.Looking back to where I'd come from.

10. Back to work.

Location isn't important Turtle, after all it's simply "Today in Pictures" & added to that some variety has got to be better than same ol', same ol', surely. :)

Thank you - it was the prelude to a good meal! I have been very unwell lately and have just bounced back in the last couple of weeks, thanks to weather and meds among other things. It's nice to feel like going out again and be able to as well, so hope it keeps up.

Love your pics too, as Dave says, doesn't matter where they are from...

Looks like you cracked it then, nice pictures, as D in G says its anybodies and every bodies "today" so location is not the main factor just a snap shot of every bodies day, and how it went.

I could not be bothered to go out today it's too hot for my liking so after seeing shillelagh's pictures of flowers I thought I would give it a try. As most of you know I am not much of a fauna and flora chap but it makes a change from my usual subject.
Anyway here a my attempts at nature photographs from my garden.

I should be out there now laid on the grass wearing my woolly swimming costume with baggy legs, drinking wine from an old tin mug.
My sunburnt supple manly body glistening in the afternoon air, muscles rippling, female admirers trying to climb the fence for a better look.
Well I can dream if nowt else.

Hark! What's that dinging I hear? Ah, the alarm clock! ;)

Never mind Gremlin, you aren't the only one who has these wild imaginings. :)
