Corporal Klinger ... is that you.:D

I will certainly go back......and one day soon when the sun is shining I will stop off at Hebden Bridge. That place was jumping today. There was some kind of shenanigans going on up on Stoodley Pike.....people were going up there with their picnic baskets......and the brass band was lugging their Tuba's up there too.
The canal was full of colourful barges.....people and dogs were taking in the gentle May sunshine...in fact I would have got more pics had I jumped off the bus there today.......Piece Hall was calling me.....just to tell me it was shut. Shame it whispered in my deaf ear.

I think that there is a waterways festival on this weekend at Skipton

Great pics. I specially like the deer ones and the Canada Goose with her goslings.

Airyplanes - Boeing Stearman x4 (Incidentally the pilot was a young Lass) - Piper Super Cub x3 - Robin DR 400/180R & for those of you not interested in Airyplanes one of the Hound after her assistance with the decorating (paint on her head & lugs)

Not a subject we get on here very often, a nice collection.

1 - 5 have been edited to HDR with snapseed.
5 - 10 are just how they came.
1) looking through one of the archways in the town centre.
2) the clock tower on the Town Hall
3) In at the top door of the Market hall(the Market Hall is very similar toAccringtons....but more stall inside)
4) Galvanized buckets - you don't see them very often.
5) the clock inside the Market hall. I can't remember if this has always been there or if it is a new clock done in an old style.
(it is 50 years or mores ince I was last in Halifax so it is all very hazy in my memory)
6) Clock tower of the Town Hall...seems to go on into space.
7) Town hall clock tower viewed from a distance.
8) this is getting to be a bit of a theme......the clock in the Market Hall.
9) that archway from a different angle.
10) The Market Hall....I did wait for the crowds to pass along :)

I had a very enjoyable day...but the bus ride gave me a square BTM.

Interesting architecture, and that clock would be perfect for the Arndale, interesting line of arches in no. 9.

Its not often I see a shot I wish I had taken, but no5 is one, the depth of field is outstanding, and where did you see the dear, I have never in all my ramblings come across any in the wild, or even glimpsed any.

Thanks, the dear was in a field between Tottleworth road and Spring Wood.

It was one of those 'accidental' shots....totally uncontrived.
I should be more used to looking for things like that....but to be truthful I was proper miffed that I could not snap The Piece Hall.
Everything else seemed a bit second best....and yet I had a good day.
(Once I had got the fish and chips under my belt, that is).

Some of the best shots are those that you don't see until they are uploaded.

Today in Pictures, an earlier conversation put the Coppice in mind, so that's where I went.

1. Over the top of the second lodge toward Spire Farm.
2. The Spanish variety, an introduction for gardens has now escaped into the wild.
3. Worship and windmills.
4. This years seeds, next years weeds.
5. Arboreal mushrooms.
6. I was pushing, so had to make it snappy.
7. Does my bum look big on this.
8. I'm in the bushes.
9. Cotton Grass.
10.The top is now put to use in more than one way, although I pick up my "stuff" in a bag, should they.

Oh deary me - you are a couple of old dears but that is definitely a deer! ;):D

It's a great set of pics - I have only seen a deer once in the wild -crossed the road in front of us in the Lakes a few years ago - must have been quite exciting to see so close up. Had no idea there were any round our area.

Love the bumble bee and the dandelion clock. I didn't make it quite so high up the Coppice myself...
