(it's Ok because 'I want' doesn't get).

I was offered my pick by the farmer but I had to decline, as lovely as they are I don't think the Hound would've been best impressed. :)

That's as maybe Frank, but these are just furballs at the moment. ;)

I could scoop them all up.....but it really isn't practical.
Pasha, our current moggy is an old lady and would not take kindly to young whippersnappers invading her space.

Following Dave and Margaret's tips n how to use photoscape I have adjusted the B&W themed photo again. Quite pleased with the result - will have to ask Mick to upload it to the competition as it just won't work for me!

Lovely autumny photos with some great splashes of colour. You got the landmark trees above Rishton in 6 and 7 but I think my favourite is the close-up in number 2.
Those trees were planted for Queen Victoria and King George aparently - a group from Rishton wanted to replant some new ones in the same area for the Queen's Diamond jubilee to keep the tradition running but the landowner (a farmer) refused them permission which is a great shame as it was a really good idea.

Thanks, the blurry object behind the puff ball in number two is a tree stump, I think this is feeding the fungi. The trees on the hill behind suffered a bit in the storms earlier in the year, one place I go "the pines" just above dean clough reservoir, a lot of the pine trees blew over, this destabilised the remaining trees, this caused the footpath through this area to be closed. I don't know if this group of trees are in the same area, I will make a note when I go up, I think possibly later today.

just checked Goggle Earth and I think the trees are off Wilpshire Road.

Have been having a play with the colour isolation on Photscape - hard to find the right subject - some are more effective than others. Practise makes perfect (I hope!)
1 A fern ready to unfurl
2 Croquet on the lawns of Sizergh Castle
3 Red Hot Chili Peppers

You just have to keep practicing(or messing, as I call it)...and yes, some pics lend themselves more than others.
On picture number three I would have left to colour in the shutters too.
Number one works very well......number two...well there are so many options with that one :).

This is the Limehouse Conservation Area - on the site of a lime quarry that was in use from the 1840s to the 1950s. I've been wanting to come here all summer, but only now is it feasible for me (no mozzies!).

It's a steep learning curve - glad of some critical feedback, so thank-you.

Number three has strong colours with the Bougainville which is Fucschia pink and the shutters too were a good colour - will have another play with it. It's quite absorbing when you get going! :)

Love the light and colours in 7 and 8 - that bridge in 10 is too good to be true - such a simple but effective arch!
