re: Planning Applications
Seems like Stanley has been given a little more breathing space against recommendation:
Accrington Stanley avoid threat of control room court action (From Lancashire Telegraph) REPORT TO PLANNING COMMITTEE – 27th JANUARY 2010 REPORT BY: CHIEF PLANNING AND TRANSPORTATION OFFICER PREPARED BY: DEVELOPMENT CONTROL MANAGER RECENT APPEAL DECISION Purpose of Report The attached report advises members of recent appeal decision. RECOMMENDATION (i) Members note the report. (ii) That authority is given to the Chief Planning and Transportation Officer to instruct the Council’s legal department to arrange a prosecution hearing in the local magistrate’s court for non compliance with the enforcement notice. Planning Application No. 11/09/0279 Erection of ground control room at first floor level, with access stairway and screen fencing Crown Ground, Livingstone Road, Accrington, BB5 5BX This appeal was dealt with by written representations and was dismissed on 5th January 2010. A copy of the Inspector’s report is attached. An enforcement notice has already been served in respect of the unauthorised development. The owner did not appeal the enforcement notice. The Council took the decision that it would not arrange a prosecution hearing whilst a planning application appeal decision was pending. It is likely that the magistrates would have put proceedings on hold in such circumstances. Given that the Inspector, acting on behalf of the Secretary of State, has now dismissed the appeal I have no other option but to recommend that legal action be pursued in the form of a prosecution hearing in the local magistrate’s court. |

re: Planning Applications
This article makes interesting reading, they are talking about the same greenbelt land the HBC were trying to develop, from the Redcap pub down to knuzden brook, and back to the M65
There was never a planning application. High-tech East Lancs business park plans unveiled (From Lancashire Telegraph) Am sure the jobs created would be a great boost for the area. |

I'm confused .. I thought this land belonged to HBC .. they are saying B with D plus private owner (Peel Holdings do you think ?). Better than another retail park which, I think, was attempted ? Still, anything that helps our area eh ? |

The land is in Hyndburn,it is identified on HBC's master plan for industrial/commercial use. I don't think peel holdings will be involved since HBC turned their application down because it would take trade away from Accrington town centre, BwD were also against that development.Like you say BwD seem to be pushing this plan even though it's not within their boundary......Big Brother time eh |
Re: Planning Applications
Erection of 1.8 metre fence round ossy town hall car park, that'l look odd, imo.

Re: Planning Applications
Yeah that might be the case, it would look strange with a big fence there permanently.

Re: Planning Applications
Gayle explained in another thread that is was temporary contractors compound.

Re: Planning Applications
It is to stop kids playing ball games there. They don't take any notice of the sign that's there, "No ball games" - in fact, I've been told they use it as a target. Letter has gone out to local residents saying car park is going to be fenced off.
