Will that not cause more problems, the little dears will just climb over the fence.

Most of them are all for an easy life and won't bother. When someone calls the Police it will be easier to catch them if they are in a cage.

On second thoughts why not put a fence up and leave the gate open? This will give the kids somewhere to play where they can be seen so feel safe. The fence will help keep the ball in the area and cause less problems for the neighbours.

The "No ball games" signs are a waste of money as they can not be enforced unless a by-law has been passed to support it.

Re: Planning Applications

For one year in the early 70s, I lived in the end house (#26) next to that car park.
I experienced grafitti on the gable as a greater problem than balls being bounced at it.
When I bought that house (for cash) it had a smooth black bitumen surface on the gable, which was used as a blackboard. I soon had that replaced with an uneven textured cement render, so that it was less of a target for grafitti, and balls bounced back at unexpected angles.

I lived there for one year only until I got my 1st divorce settlement which enabled me to get a mortgage.

During my time there, the biggest aggravation was parking by persons attending town hall functions.

Exactly Margaret, that is why we need the land at the side for parking for the Civic Theatre. It is bad around there for all concerned. Not long ago my brother, who has done more than his share to improve the stage lighting, was threatened by a resident on Sun Street ...if he didn't move it, wouldn't be much of his car left when he returned. Of course, this resident had no right but my brother, being a peaceloving person, did move it. Would like to have seen him try it with me ... Course ... can understand how the residents feel, and visitors to the theatre too. Gonna' be worse once the arts community centre is installed.

My parents lived in Monarch Street right opposite the Civic Theatre Kate and it was always a bone of contention with them, along with parking at the Nat West bank too, yet there is a car park at the back of what was their home and nobody uses it, its the site of the old Ossy UDC council yard

Not many spaces there though Jaysay. Looks like the residents use it, in the main.

Latest hearsay on the land next to the theatre is that it is on offer for around £300,000 (seems could have full planning permission for housing). HBC would like LCC to buy it back. HBC would be responsible for developing the car park and LCC would lease it to HBC. Problem is, LCC 'aint got no money... :( So no goer really, however, would love to know exactly the correct version if this is not it. :D

Think there's about 20 spaces Kate, but not sure, when my parents lived there it was hardly ever used, but haven't been near the area since my fathe died in 2003

Item 1 was passed despite concerns about the lack of parking.
