As Bernie posted, they're mostly selling services. Not products.

The flagged stone floor looks great.

Sadly you get to see great expanses of it, where once there were market traders.

There are some.

As for the daft dream that it would be a hub of arty farty crafts people...only time will tell, but I know what I'd put my money on.

It's bye-bye tripe, trotters, and best beef dripping.

Hello to tarot cards, gel nails, and Indian head massage.

I feel so sorry for the traders in the market hall, and on the outside market, they are trying hard to make a living.
My great worry is that when Tesco opens it will be the beginning of the end of Accrington as a once great market town.

I think you'll find they're chrocheting.

You silly nit.

As penance you can go and spend your lunch break with the lady, who's residency is funded from the public purse.

Have you got the balls?

If not, I believe she has spare balls of wool.

:D

As I said in the Palladium thread - that building could house an old style market.
Jaysay pointed out that it could not legally be called a 'market', but if named 'meerkat' we would all know what it is :D

I did ponder that, knowing they're an unlikely luxury, when you run your own business.

I'm afraid you'll have to shut the shop then.

Now grab your hook, and go and make a wooly caterpillar, to hang up in the Market Hall.

Mind you don't get knotted.

;)

:D
