You could well be right and knowing the statement a journalist is a journalist don't be too surprised if this little barrel of worms doesn't go further than News International, a lot of fleet streets finest (an old phraseology I know) are freelance and not just tied to one organisation, a fact that was pointed out on BBC Breakfast TV. this morning:rolleyes:

Don't know if you are all aware but concern over hacking is just one of the reasons why there is a campaign to stop Rupert Murdoch buying out all BSkyB. It is urgent to support this and it just needs an email.

Seems like he's going to, one enquiry into the police and one into the NoW and journalistic ethics in general, after Milliband asked for it.

not sure the Public would have any faith/trust in the results of any independant inqiury. even if it was headed by Christ himself , until the "establishment" Politicians (all parties/all levels) , Police and the Civil Service can show they are whiter than white and not "in it" for personal gain ... (think expenses fiddles, Police corruption, gold plated index linked pensions ) 1/2 the country are living on benefits of one sort or another (Murdoch's target audience Sun /NOTW readers, 1/4 of the country are employed by the Govt. in one way or another ... leaving 1/4 of the country having to pay for it all.

A good example of "honest and open" Govt. in the UK is the House of Lords ... somewhere where reprobates and dead-beats from the House of Commons end up drawing more money under a new assumed name/idenity , (Baron /Baroness this and that )

rant over ;) :D

I have never quite grasped that "in the public interest malarkey" whenever I hear that I usually end up yelling not it bloody isn't. Peoples private phone calls should be just that private, I can understand phone tapping by the anti terrorist squad, but after that its a no no as far as I'm concerned

We used to have the NOTW ung on a nail behind the toilet door(well squares of it anyway).......saved money on lavvy paper......now if you wiped your bum with the NOTW, you would have a dirtier bottom than when you started.

I sincerely hope all their advertisers jump ship...see how they can run the rag without advertisement finance.

No Beni, by then Ma had a flush toilet and newspaper was banned for the purpose of wiping your bum...we got Izal or Bronco instead.
We only used newspaper as lavvy paper while we had a long drop!
