He's closed the most profitable newspaper, with the highest circulation figures in the world, because he knew it could never recover from the disgust the nation feels over this scandal.

He'll also know what further outrages are yet to be revealed.

Whatever he is, he's a successful businessman.

He's cut his losses.

Thrown in his cards.

Sacrificed his hand.

He's now ready for the next game.

Let's hope we are too.

True.

It's only thanks to the relentless badgering by the journalists at the Guardian that this story hasn't died, and been brushed under the carpet.

I think politicans of all parties should heed the warning about not supping with the Devil.

I have read that Murdoch may sell all of his UK newspapers in the hope of preventing the BskyB bid from hitting the buffers.

There has to be something very unsavoury that is buried somewhere. Maybe the red head knows where it is, and has a JCB ready and waiting.

Precisely what I said in post 64 of this thread, cashman.

Somehow garinda turned it into a discussion of Nazi Germany and the gas chambers.

I'm still trying to work that one out! :):):):)
