I spoke to Rob Heys at the legends game today and asked Him outright if He did say tht the bill would be paid on Monday, as everyone has been told via facebook, His reply, and I quote , was ' We are HOPEFUL', when asked if He could guarantee payment would be made he said 'guarantee?, no'.

The reports of our salvation seem a little premature, as I dont think Rob would have held back if we were indeed 'safe' as some seem to think.

I think Rob will have been just careful ahead of any real announcement Pete; according to a couple of bods on facebook these’s issues haven’t even been discussed/disclosed to employees of the club so I would sincerely doubt that too much would be said before Monday.

Being realistic would Rob and the other people in the know be so claim if it was going tits up. We have one of the best teams in years and a real chance of progress so I’m no longer worried, if we were in the real piggy **** I think someone would have broke ranks long before now.

Come what may on Wednesday, it is time for the supporters to make a concerted effort to get O'Neill and Heys out!
The only thing they have done for the club in the last eight weeks is to push this club deeper in debt.

If the club does survive, it is due solely to the efforts of the supporters and the generous public of East Lancs,, and afar.

Let us say to ONeill and Heys,

GO NOW!

Don't forget there's still £100K to come, according to the press...

key figures within the club – including joint chairperson Dave O’Neill and chief executive Rob Heys – had pledged to put in a combined £100,000.

Because I think they have gone right back to when O'Neill was trying to borrow money on the future earnings of the club. If you remember that was what Khan didn't want but now why not, there is always a way to borrow money if you need it.

This is my first post so I hope I manage to conquer the technology!

As a low key lifelong Stanley fan and one of the organisers of the recent Pioneer 79 Swimming Club sportsmans dinner, it is concerning that an acknowledgement of the £1000 the club donated to the SOS fund does not appear anywhere on the fundraising site.

Although I'm always willing to give ASFC the benefit of the doubt, it is difficult sometimes to persuade others that the donation has been used for the purpose it was intended, ie to help pay the taxman.

Because there are other more sober and serious events to consider today SM !

"Duck 'wearing' glasses rescued from canal at Clayton-le-Moors10:24am Tuesday 27th October 2009."

" A duck wearing a pair of plastic glasses was rescued from a canal in East Lancashire.

RSPCA inspectors were called to a stretch of the Leeds and Liverpool Canal close to Victoria Street in Clayton-le-Moors, after passers-by noticed the male mallard duck struggling ".......

Firstly, thank you for registering and welcome to the Stanley Section............I hope you enjoy the ongoing debates/arguments and indeed humour on display!

Secondly, please accept My thanks, and Im sure the thanks of all on here who hold our club so dear, in raising such a creditable amount for the SOS fund.

The Club, Im sorry to say are not the best at Google Page Ranking, infact they are probably the worst! Im sure that the donation you guys made will have been 'lumped in' with 'other donations'................Perhaps MrT could confirm?

No

It was the sportman's dinner held to raise funds for Pioneer 79 Swimming Club, with a percentage donated to SOS. In the end we rounded up the sum to £1k. I've been trying to upload a picture of Barry Fry donating a 'big' cheque to Rob Heys - unsuccessfully!

The real cheque was presented to Rob at half time during the Bournemouth game.

It is just not Good enough !!...it smacks of a total loss of Personal and Corporate Integrity....and it will, if it has not done so already, alienate many Good Supporters of The Stanley for a long time to come!!...( Irrespective of the possible largesse shown by HMRC tomorrow!)

I am now lost for words !!

Maybe those who paid by credit card can claim of the card company for non-delivery of goods

This reminds me of a saying that my uncle told me many years ago regarding unpaid taxes:-

'If you choose to dance with a crocodile, you must be prepared for what will happen when the music stops'

The music stops on Wednesday:eek:

And The Fat Lady will have packed her bags long since, and disappeared into the sunset never to be seen or heard singing ever again Bob!!.

I am devastated to say the least...'.Life at 'The Crown' hangs by a very slender thread indeed... one which could be so easily severed by the hand of one who couldn't care less about our great Club...It's History...and most of all..It's supporters!!...

You'll remember the old Muddy Waters song..(So dear to the hearts of Wynonie, Cashy, and Myself!)....

'GOIN' DOWN SLOW'...Well I'm afraid that this might be echoed in The Stanley's slide towards it's SECOND Tragic End !!

Hope that I'm wrong though !!!... Stay Cool Man !!

Anyone that paid by credit card will be able to claim the money back from the credit card company.

Anyone that paid by any other method (and this includes debit cards) will probably not get a single penny back.

Question guys. I need to know 2 things.
Why was only 96000 electronically transferred from the sos fund when the thermometer shows 20,000 more than that? Can someone please clear that up as the weeks extension now covers another payday for me, so I was thinking should I be transferring some more to the SOS on Friday?? The 'missing' 20,000 issue is making me think twice about it..

Thanks

Not really, they could always borrow a bit out of the SOS fund, there should be about 20 grand to play with.
