So the Conservative leaflet claiming the Labour planed to intoduce parking charges was not misleading was it?

Maybe they had some knowlege that members of the Labour Group did not have.

The information was disingenuous to say the least. At least the information on the first Labour leaflet was taken from a reputable daily newspaper.

Re: Should Graham Jones resign? 'labour group leader'

The three questions I put to you Graham are:

1. What date do you source the 'most expensive council' stuff in the leaflets?

2. What date was the figure in the telegraph?

3. Do you understand why the figure itself is flawed because of the way its worked out? I'd prefer a response that dealt with the issue not a "Well its in the telegraph" escape goat.

Could you please answer those questions specifically?

I can't believe this thread is still going on. Labour lost a seat, Conservatives are being smug about it as per, but why continue to rub it in their faces days after the results? It isn't going to change anything is it?!

Graham shouldn't resign, Andrew should continue on his boring plight to becoming the next Graham Jones but for the dark side, and we will all live happily ever after no doubt.

The end.

Well as Some one who has been known to support the Conservative cause on the odd occasion I think it is time to draw the proverbial line in the sand. Its quite obviuos that Graham ain't going to tell Cyfr where or from what dates he was quoting the the Reputable dailly newspaper so its time to move on say start another thread could I sugest, "should Gordon Brown stay or should he go"

I can only comment on leaflets I actually have any knowledge about. The information on the labour leaflet was taken from a reputable newspaper indeed, just the Labour party either A) thought they could con everyone with the figures or B) don't understand the figures. They're also dated incorrectly, at least Graham knows they are or else he would have replied already, but as usual he only comes on here and replies when it makes him look good but avoids it when it might have negative implications.

IF the leaflet is simply saying 'Labour will introduce car parking charges' (and I have no idea where you mean because I havent seen the leaflet, seen what context it is in, or anything). And if it is true that the Labour group never mentioned anything of the sort then why are you not kicking up more of a fuss over complete falsehoods to the election commission?

Obviously over the council tax issue it's not against the rules to con the public as long as what you put there is fact, which of course it is fact, just that the facts are worked out inaccurately and have no real relevance to Hyndburn being an expensive council or not.
