Re: Wetherspoons
Maybe have a few in Wetherspoons tonight,be back in there from tomorrow, taking lady for tea and making a full night of it then .Might even go through the drinks menu list in alphabetical order i.e. a absolute vodka,b brandy ;)
dont want to upset Cashy even more about his 1.95 coke but a Double Lambs rum and coke is £3.40,just £1.45 more than his coke  Ive been in more than 50 wetherspoons around the country and the food is just about average but worth it. It will be good that accy webbers can try it post good and bad comments on this tread but one person that wont be in there is TEALEAF,although he's posted more replies on here than anyone :D |
Re: Wetherspoons
Went in this morning for a coffee, thought it looked very nice. Got an orange and water and a coffee the price was £1.95, so didn't think it was to bad. Going back this evening to sample a few alcholic beverages (sp). But got me wondering though, how many people will start meeting under the clock again. Used to do that late 70s early 80s, and guess what? Am doing it tonight for the first time in years.

No matter...I know. It's a terrible mish-mash of IKEA/MFI style tables - a little bit more chunky, perhaps, togeather with the sort of seating you would find in a run down Italian railway station waiting room, some cheap lighting of the sort you used to get in Woolworths, a tacky pinewood bar, all backed up round the back with racks of industrial microwaves knocking out the same cheap emulsified fat as is found in the waste bins at your local kebab shop. it's clientele, no doubt, will be those who have made the Mac's Cab ride up from the ASDA; they are the sort of people who you would find in one of those cheap zombie films. Think of 'Dawn of the Dead', or '28 days Later', mindless creatures who know no better than to fight and to feast on whatever old muck is placed in front of them. |

Tealeaf, c'mon, you really aren't trying. You can be far more condescending than that.
I've seen you do it. It must be wonderful to have such a jaundiced view of your fellow Accywebbers and the people of Accrington. Did you take an exam in being bitter and twisted, or is it a natural skill? |

Re: Wetherspoons
I have no idea if or when I will go in, I don't give a toss who does or doesn't go in. The simple fact is it looks a lot better now than when those disgusting metal shutters were on the windows.

It seems to be a pretty poor excuse. I suppose he would much rather the building in the centre of our town, be left to rot. As if we do not have enough eyesores in our town. He has nothing good to say about the place, and even less to say about the people who live here. He is the epitome of a carmudgeon. Isn't that just a bit sad? |
