Re: Lap Dance Club
Sorry wasn't sure.
I don't have an opinion on customers as one homogeneous group so it's difficult to answer! I've met some brilliant people in this job, generally they are just men who like lapdances, for whatever reason, they like the company of women and women who are willing to dance naked for them are a novelty. I love talking to people and hearing about their lives so a perk of the job for me is that I get to do this all the time. The only customers who I *ever* think bad of are those that assume dancers are easy prey, or those that are abusive. I encounter them often but it's part of the job, one of the downsides. I also find myself having the same argument over and over year after year-when I get offered X amount of money to go home with guys and they recoil in horror when I don't. Assuming all dancers are prostitutues is slightly annoying, but also (sociologist in me lol) fascinates me. How many women go out each weekend and end up in bed with strangers? Often for NO money-and people judge me because of my job. I've nothing against women who sell sex although personally I couldn't do it. But I do tend to have a slight opinion on men who assume dancers/prostitutes are one and the same. |

Women have secondary sexual characteristics which distinguish them from men and are generally thought to be necessary in courtship, while not being directly part of the primary reproductive system. If you dance in front of them displaying some of these characteristics it is their instinct to think of it as a courtship ritual of some sort (it is subconscious of course and some will read the signs wrongly hence the mistaken advances and their subsequent disappointment). This is obviously what they go to lap-dancing clubs for in the first place - a bit of sexual stimulation which may be missing in their lives for whatever reason. It's perfectly natural for them to be out looking for it though -it may just be that they'd be better off trying to get to know someone in a different way though and it would probably cost them less, economically and possibly in their self-esteem. |

You're right, I guess unless I turn into a man I will never fully empathise- I also tend to assume we've evolved a bit since our days of being ruled by primal instinct only but I know that's the wrong way of thinking, particularly where alcohol is involved! :)

Re: Lap Dance Club
We all have our sexual quirks.
In the days before I became asexual (an age thing) I preferred men men who didn't need visual stimulation - tantric was best :D |
