There are also miles of them in the Cotswolds, to me the part of England where the local stone is used to best effect in its beautiful villages. Cotswold Dry Stone Walls | Cotswold Blogs |

Last time i was in Accy I saw a lot of rows of houses that had been sand-blasted back to their original colour and they looked great. In my kitchen at home i have a pin board full of postcards and photos featuring my favourite Lakeland fells, Pendle Hill and a Lowry painting among others -he captured something of the feeling of the North with the factories, chimneys and houses. I always think that the view across Accy from the Coppice would have made a great subject for him as it has everything in it.:) |

Part 1. Today in Picture, Started off moist and ended with getting a sweat on. As today is "The Big Shop" it was a quick walk around the park.
1. Off down the road to the canal. 2. Down the slippery cobbles onto the canal. 3. There must have been a storm out to sea, where did those islands come from? 4. Off the canal and down the road. 5. By the square. 6. Down to the park. 7. The park looms, I'm getting giddy, the sun is out. 8. The way is pointed out. 9. A seat in the shade. 10. The new construction is now open. |

Re: Today in pictures
I saw some teenage boys breaking off bit of the banking on the canal the other day Dave.
They were on the Con club side of the banking...up by the Sefton park development. I wanted to peyl(peel) their backsides....alas, it is no longer allowed. |

I have walked down that side myself on the return journey, if you come off at the Altham bridge, go over the bridge, and just past the bridge on the Sefton side there are some steps down. makes a change to see the canal from the other side |
