Have to say that it doesn’t sound like it’s a ferry to me, only 23 on board, suspect that will be all the crew, plus they state cargo has shifted, I could be wrong.

I don't know what is happening to the weather in Accrington but in the north of Cambridgeshire we have high (very high) winds to the extent some glass has blown out of the greenhouse - 2nd time since Christmas. We have had torrential rain, hail and flurries of snow - all in one day. My husband has just asked me how I feel about moving to Spain - what can I say!

That wouldn't be real snow, it would be ice pellets, sort of halfway between snow and freezing rain. (We Canadians are experts on snow.:D)Last weekend we had the biggest blizzard of the decade ...60cm of snow, gale force winds ... a real doozey. We are still digging out in Kingston. Thirty big plows owned by the city and a couple of hundred private plows (some guys put blades on their 4x4s and clean up parking lots and big driveways worked full time for two days to make the streets and the sidewalks passable. Now we are almost back to normal, and we have above zero weather for a couple of days which should put us in good shape for the next big one.

Hey, we're Canadian ... what else do we have to do this time of the year. I could brag about how we still dominate our national sport (hockey is a winter thing too), unlike a certain country who last won a world cup in 1966.:D:D:D

Join the other snowbirds and drive south to the Gulf coast , spend some Loonies in Mississippi and Alabama , every C$ spent with a local business helps with the local re-construction and keeps the multi-national chains out :D ;)

If the loonie gets any stronger we might just buy the Gulf coast:D

Re: weather??

A nice pleasant weekend ... lots of wet snow on Saturday followed by a flash freeze that turned the roads into a rink. Sunday turned a little cool (-18) with a brisk breeze gusting up to flesh-freezing 65km/h. Like true Canadians, we in Kingston celebrated with FebFest, an outdoor event featuring skating, live bands, ice sculpting contest and a hockey game between ex NHL hockey greats like local lads Doug Gilmour and Kurt Muller, along with women's hockey star and Olympic gold medalist Jayna Hefford. And visting to sign autographs was Mr. Hockey Gordie Howe, four time Stanley Cup winner and Hall of Famer ... also known as Mr. Elbows for his physical type of play.

That's us ... when it gets brutaly cold, (or in Canadian, "brudal eh) go outside and enjoy it ...
