Re: Market Hall Refurbishment

Just been informed that Cabinet is rather lively this morning, with my personal views on the Market Hall publicly suggested for relocation up where the stallholders don't trade. Preparation H on standby.....

Fortunately, I'd already had a rather more productive meeting regarding the market's future earlier in the morning with someone who is actively seeking advice and ideas on how to improve matters and it wasn't one of the councillors.

Right back up yours, my dear.

I know Len's has a wide selection of cooked meats, but I've never seen boiled arse.

Perhaps you have to order it.

Relatively cheap, for a lovely certificate.

Given that most councils are cost cutting would it not be better for NAMBA to do away with one of it's judgng processes and reduce the subscriptions.

Why did they have an online public poll and a panel of judges

There's a glowing letter about the Market Hall winning NABMA's dial-a-prize competition, in this week's Observer.

Praise is also heaped on Cllr. Haworth.

Great thing, t'internet.

Not that this means there's any bias, but it turns out the letter writer numbers one Peter Britcliffe, and several members of the lauded Cllr. Haworth's family, amongst her Facebook buddies.

Probably just a coincidence.

I had seen it, and understood that the funding comes from the Lotto, and not the tax payer.

In which case I have no problem with it.

Well, no...but it does rather get away from the fact that a market hall is a place where trade is supposed to take place......not Art exhibitions.

Soon, it will be a great empty space that will be entirely devoted to Art...or what passes for it.

No you'll be able to get a brew as well Margaret.

I suppose buying a brew counts as 'trade'...loosely.
