Yesterday I finally planted out my new flower beds. I'm trying this 'square foot gardening' scheme after reading the book for months. The chippies kept me company, and they promptly jumped in to 'inspect' my work after I'd gone in for the day, despite the protective netting I'd put in place. Never mind, there's lots of goodies to go round :)
I also put up a couple of photos of some wild plants growing under the trees at the back of my place: the umbrella shaped leaves are May Apple or Mandrake, and the trumpet shaped thingie is a Jack in the Pulpit. Davemac might find them interesting.

Thanks Eric. I hope you're enjoying some fine rides in this great weather we're finally having!

Wey to go :D

I certainly take it as a compliment, Diane :)
Although I never learned to ride myself, I was in my time a happy passenger on the back of a few fine machines!

The Mandrake root is supposed to be shaped like a human...and it is said to scream as it is pulled out of the ground.

I love the critters. I would be able to sit and watch them for hours.

What was supposed to be a public footpath- turned out to be the entrance of the cones treacherous lair. See the king on his throne

Turtle -can I send your photo of the chipmunk with the peanut to my god-daughter, Ana? She's a big fan of the chipmunks (the disney ones!)...it's such a great photo.
