One for starters, looks like the blue tit is trying to get the chicks to fledge.

Great shot! You must have watched this nest for some time - patience paid off :)

Babs and Toby dropped by for an early morning snack ... Tobzilla (he's a big lad) is doing fine in his new home. And cats and flowers. And cat ignoring squirrel. And squirrel doing squirrel things. Normal morning as I down my first tea of the day. Lazy photography; I didn't even have to get off my ass.:alright:

Love those pics Eric.
Yesterday when we went down town someone had abandoned a little black and white kitten behind one of the market stalls.
I would happily have taken him home but himself gave me 'that look'...the one that says 'don't even think about it'
When I went to bed last night I worried about the little critter...hoping that someone would take pity on him and give him a home. I couldn't sleep for thinking about him.

Anyway today I asked how things had gone....one of the butchers had taken the kitten home with him...he wants a mouser for his allotment.
So I was relieved.

Today in Pictures, an early start meant I found a bit of slack in my extensive curriculum for a few snaps, one of the first walks when I got Bob.

1. I might as well start by lying on the floor.
2. Looking back at the "wharf"
3. Looking the other way, in the distance is Pendle Hill although you cant make out any detail.
4. Growing in the canal on a bed of reeds. (Iris)
5. A gaggle of swanletts.
6. The wall to the left is all that remains of Dr Lovelaces Soap Works.
7. In the shadow of "The Con Club" I sat on that seat, it took me 4 hours to get up.
8. A little burst of colour in the shadow of "The Con", and mostly un-noticed. (ox eye daisy and red campion mostly)
9. Reflection of the Lovelaces wall.
10. A delicate pink flower and thorns that would rip a hole in a sporran. (dog rose)

Thanks, I am trying to get back into the routine again, I have only been out of it for a week or so and the countryside has changed, the buttercups are filling the fields, hawthorn is fading to pink, and the grass in the fields has grown to knee height.

I don't have mice anymore ... Emma is a fantastic mouser:D She has left me many "gifts" ... one of them on my pillow.;) Anyway, I'm going to work on Babs ... she ain't going to spend another winter outside. She's a difficult cat, and Emma hates her ... but we'll work something out.

I am sure that you will succeed, with patience and kindness.....and the kind of aloofness that cats employ.
Emma will get used to having a new housemate...either that or give Babs a wide berth.

Thanks for the kind words, its nice to be missed, I am not back 100% yet, but am making the effort to get out and about, but I just didn't have enough hours. I look at my photographic dog walking as my therapy from the stresses of life, and missed it when I was unable to find the time.

Sometimes there are things in life which take priority and the things we like doing have to sit on the back burner for a while...to be taken up again when the situation allows.
