Re: Spire farm development

People who do not put their dogs on leads when asked to do so by land owners are totally iressponsible . If they get their dogs shot for casing distress to farm animals it is their fault. They are not dog lovers.

One small wireless camera should hopefully do the job.
The sign in the picture must have been put up by Lancashire Countryside Services (I think thats who does rights of way) It was on and entrance into a field so is an official sign.

I would endorse t he fact that most dog owners are responsible and when going across your property would leash their animal.
It is sad when the misdemeanors of the few, impact on those who would do the right thing. Leash their dog....and pick up dog mess. Responsible owners do not need to be asked to do these things, it is second nature to them.

I think there are a lot of dog owners who like to think they are responsible but in reality are not.

I think there are also a lot of landowners who like to think they are responsible but in reality are not.

It is an odd situation though that someone buys a piece of land with a right of way across it but they don't actually own the bit that is the right of way.

They did own the land where the old route of the prow followed, and they still do. But they also owned the land where they moved the prow to, now they do not own that land, so the prow must be returned to somewhere near its original position.

Correct. I've explained my mistakes. Time to move on. Landowners should study the facts first before taking action,or reacting ! But as said time to move on. I'm up there tomorrow to continue to do what I have to by the written LAW. i will be the one in the fluorescent jacket. A handshake will be awaiting you.

Most of my anger was and still is channeled at the morons who didn't do as we asked, I.e. Put your dog on a lead whilst you pass through approx- 300yards of our grounds. Sadly even today I requested that a mature man 50 ish put his dog on a lead. It was off the the track and running around the field, his response was, why should I. What happened next is between me and him.
I feel I must reply to the comment made above on the 14th January 2012 regarding the mature man 50 ish & the incident which occurred last Saturday afternoon. I am a close personal friend of the man involved & have walked with him & his dog on many occasions. He was walking along the Public right of way with his dog off the lead but not as stated by Mr Foy ‘off the track running around the field’. As a matter of fact there has been no livestock in these fields since late December. The gentleman in question has walked around this area most days for many years & has thankfully never had the misfortune to meet such an unpleasant man.

When challenged about the dog being off the lead he correctly pointed out that this is allowed on a PROW. He is fully conversant with the law with regard to this. Mr Foy became extremely agitated, shouting & even saying that ‘if he was to come back tomorrow he would set his dog’ on this placid family pet, ‘ripping it to shreds’. Obviously not the animal lover he portrays himself to be. This is also the same man who has the audacity to accuse others of owning dangerous dogs.
As the gentleman tried to walk away to avoid further confrontation Mr. Foy continued to shout & rant. My friend did suggest it might be a good idea for Mr. Foy ‘to go & lie down as he was in danger of suffering a heart attack’. Mr Foy retorted that ‘he was stressed out’ – he certainly appears to be just that!!!

I have also walked on this footpath on numerous occasions & have encountered 2 large dogs roaming loose. They obviously belong to RHFoy or visitors to his property, as when called, disappeared through the gate onto the drive of Spire Farm. Perhaps they are also the source of some of the dog mess!!!
I regret Mr. Foy that you may have conned other more gullible individuals into believing you are the ‘hard done to party’ when in reality you are a bully & a control freak.

I will treat your baseless allegations with the contempt it deserves. I was with my land surveyor expert and his daughter both whom witnessed my comments. I do not have two large dogs roaming my grounds and I do not own two large dogs as your puerile response claims. I suggest you go back to school and learn again that there are two sides to any story or allegation. Who are you? I do not recall any previous threads with you,and I would suggest you retract your fabricated response. It is in fact that my wife's horses have been in those fields since 2003, so may I suggest you go and see an eye specialist, perhaps ape savers as you need their help. Your friend was ignorant to the word and the facts are when I asked him to please notice the word please could you put your dog on a lead his actual response was 'why should i'eh!. The rest of that conversation is between me and him. Furthermore may I suggest you read the code with regards dogs on public footpaths, and people like you need to understand it is in the interests of public and animal safety. I will remind you that your slander is now libel and would ask you NEVER, to repeat such hearsay again. ,

I don't actually, but I have responded to his baseless allegations. I have a very good idea who he is. But life is good and the prow is in fine condition and spire farm is once again looking tremendous. Enjoy the walks and views :-)
