Nowhere near ... it's in BC .... about 4 days drive from here .... but it's causing major problems in the Okanagan Valley, esp. around Kelowna .... a hell of a mess. Buddy of mine lives in the valley and he tells me that it's drier than a soda craker fart (that's Canadian, eh).

Eric - my grandson is at a summer camp at Squam Lake New Hampshire.
I notice that it is the same latitude as you, but it is a lot higher in altitude.
If you aren't getting hot weather, he won't be either.
Maybe a good thing - fewer mozzies maybe.

Glad to hear your safe where you are Eric, I suppose that's one kind of thing we don't have to put up with back here in blighty, it never gets that dry here

There hasn't been all that much hot weather in the east .... but the rainfall has been heavier than normal .... as a result: mega mosquitos .... moskies like to breed in stagnant water ... not something I'm into;):D

Looks like the fires are more or less under control .... one thing that Canadians are good at is fighting forest fires .... get more than enough practice.

I think you are talking about the wrong kind of Indian, hon. Indian Summer is a North American thing .... I believe it is the warm weather one gets in late fall, and if I remember right, it has to come after the first hard frost. Don't fret it ... the only First Nations people you have over there are tourists from over here.;):D

Saw this on the news last night ... what a heat wave you guys are having! ... and I noticed that the temps in Whitehorse are in the 30s! Here it has been slightly cooler than normal, with lots of rain.

Tesla Weather Control Over America

On 4 July 1976, the Soviet Union began generating powerful electromagnetic transmissions, that were dubbed "The Russian Woodpecker" by Western ham radio operators.

Oh please leave the weather alone, hon .... it's the only safe thing to talk about. If I meet someone in the street, and say "nice day, eh", I don't want to initiate a political debate .... I mean, it's not like saying "and who do you vote for"?, or "which church do you go to, and why"?, or "what's your favorite sexual position"?

Just listening to the news ... 85% of British Columbia on fire alert! What happened to the Wet Coast weather .... and I guess some of that hot air mass slipped over the Rockies and into Alberta, where it met with cooler air and generated some monster storms with winds at over 100 km/hr .... one storm hit a country music festival, blew down the main stage: at least one person killed, and quite a few critical linjuries. Weather gone wild.

Yep , the west coast (North America , not Blackpool) has been weird this year ,in my area we have had rain sprinkles, unheard of in July, clouds and fog not clearing until about noon and low 70s temps , Oregon and Washington seeing high temps never seen before

Thanks hon, might have thundershowers tomorrow, but it looks like a nice weekend coming up with temps in the low 20s .... as we speak, the humidex here is 39c ... dog days. Fall is just around the corner. The trees will turn, and we will have our version of the Illuminations .... love fall, my favorite season of the year:theband: Our weather is better when the wind is from the north or northwest ... good clean Canadian air ... when it comes from the south we get the cruddy pollution from the US, esp the coal fired generating plants in Ohio.

Tornado warning is over .... Toronto got hit pretty bad with storms and torrential rain ... 50mm in one hour .... town of Vaughan, north of TO declared a state of emergency, over 200 homes badly damaged ... we had quite the storm, but it looks like it's over for now ... still under a major thunderstorm warning for the rest of the night.

I like the ones with the flap:D But it is typically normal for the Fall .... after a few nites of frost, it should warm up to about 15c next week, an Indian Summer hopefully. The trees are looking fantastic in their Fall colours.:mosher: Time to get my skates sharpened.

The flap's in the back, hon, not the front:eek:;):D Best long john scene from a movie: "The Shootist" when Jimmy Stewart examines John Wayne.

Beautiful Fall weather here in Kingston .... trees looking fabulous .... lots of sun, but with the clear skies, a little frosty at night. But who cares; hockey every night on tv:theband:

It is a nice one, isn't it. Can't wait for the cold, so that I can lace on the skates. Hopefully, within a week or so, you will be able to see people skating there.
