Snow is here .... this is the first time I will have shovelled this winter .... beautiful and still after the snowfall .... people skating on the rink behind City Hall .... it won't be long before I'll be bitchin' about having to shovel; but, for now, I'm enjoying it. Beautiful out there.

Ity has rained for nearly 24 hours, and there is snow on the mountains 3 miles from my back garden. The temp has not gor over 60F 17C all day. Welcome to "SUNNY" Spain HUH :confused:

Went to Burnley christmas shopping and believe you me we got off mildly compared to over there. It was really coming down as we left there but as we got nearer Accrington it was clear we hadn't had a snowfall as heavy as Burnley

I would hazzard a guess that petting a polar bear leads to even more pain than bobbing for french fries:eek:;)

As the polar ice caps melt, and the salinity of the oceans decreases, and the currents change, look forward to harsher winters ... maybe in fifty years England will be playing for the gold in the World Cup of Hockey:mosher:, probably losing to Canada in the finals.;):D

Just got back from the Yukon, I,d forgotten how cold -30c is especially when it,s windy. My first breath when I left the airport, froze the hair in my nose!! It did warm up to -8 for Christmas day and a good time was had by all BRRRRRR. Got back home today and it dumped 4ins of snow on us, no golf this week.

Well it just took me an hour to get back from Crown, didn't want to risk Dill hall lane so come down into town, Whalley Rd was at a stand still, Hyndburn Rd slow, Dill hall lights to church lights very slow, going from Church lights to dill hall lights there was a wagon stuck, a tranny van that was passing him stuck and a car passing him stuck, all 3 lanes stuck :D
Union Rd was Ok, Rhyddings St and Catlw hall st passable with care

Had a great time in the snow today. The boys were sledging with our friends and neighbours and the rest of us fed and watered the animals before taking one of the goats for a walk around the park. The goat loves climbing on the rocks and park benches :D

Some of us can enjoy ourselves over here where we want to be.

Neil, i was apologising to Jaysay. i have had my fair share of snow and children. As i have about 200 goats living just down the road from me, if i wanted to take a goat for a walk i would go to the goat farm, but i prefer to take my dog instead. I too can enjoy myself over here where i want to be. :)

No thanks ... we got lots here ... and it always rains in BC .... however, we do have a week of above zero temps coming up; so, in a few days maybe we will be out of snow ... this means that Kingston has a couple of mountains of sand (grit) sitting there unused ... maybe we could work out a trade.;):D
