The cemetery behind our house is a recognised dog walking/pooing area and despite there being bins there is always a lot lying around on the ground - and on our private road too which is why I never pick blackberries from our verges despite them being loaded. Folks just let their hounds off the lead and then look the other way. I actually took that photo in Ravenna to show to the council bods who look after our cemetery but never got round to showing it to them! |

I too love fell-walking - don't get much of it over here as I live in the middle of a massive flat plain. I'm no-where near as fit as you look either but I get there eventually! I thought it was just me -the crackpot with the thing about bridges!:D I posted a photo of me on here a while back looking back up at a scramble I managed to descend coming off Place Fell near Ullswater -friend Dave in front to block the view. It broke the ice a little and was a proud moment -before that I missed the final part of the ascent up Catbell's because i chickened out:o I said to my friends: the only kind of scrambling I do involves eggs! |
Re: Today in pictures
tried looking for your pic, couldnt find it :(
as for the jumping off heights and driving of bridges, its the brains way of dealing with the fear of falling, it just accepts the inevitable and wants it over with quicker, so unless you are truly suicidal, the 3 points of contact usually helps, i think its exposure that does it for me, if i have a stick i dont feel anywhere near as bad, give it a try |
