Same happened with me, same mug design but the whole handle came off when washing it up. Glued it back on with a superglue but came off again three months later.:(
It has been relegated now to use as ‘Crock’ in the bottom of a plant pot!:help:

Well with the amount of midfield players we have won't be surprised if a couple leave soon they can't all play and playing one upfront especially at home just to squeeze a midfielder in is far from ideal, can't beat two strikers/ forward,s on the field. Some really talented younger midfielder,s in the likes of Martin,Coyle and Quirk who have big season,s ahead of them if they get the minute,s might not be a bad thing if we made some decent money on a couple of the more established midfielder,s could be added to the budget for another striker.

What is going on at the club at the moment, Andy holt posting on Twitter he's had enough, put in 90k last month. 600k last year. Saying he's lost the fans, had enough. Clubs up for sale, not happy with coley and the media way he was interviewed.

Seems to have been sparked off with Bell's foolish interview with BBC Lancs Sport saying he wants to urgently sort out his contract with the club which expires in June next year. I saw the interview and Bell, obviously "not the sharpest knife in the box" was trying to put media/fan pressure on Mr Holt to hurry up contract talks. ........What's come out since on (X) twitter from Andy is he doesn't want the aggravation of running a football club and all the time it takes (including weekends) while bank rolling the club (£600k) last year, when he thinks the "majority" of fans "support" Bell and Coleman and don't think highly of him........Anyway, the clubs up for sale.......and I'm certain Jimmy Bell has ABSOLUTELY NO CHANCE OF BEING OFFERED THE NEW CONTRACT HE WAS AFTER. ......If there's any chance of saving the situation I believe Jimmy better get round to Andy's house and offer to clean his shoes and Car for the next 12 months........or do the honourable thing and RESIGN NOW!

From elsewhere CG !..

On their decision to speak to the BBC, Holt wrote: 'They went to BBC Lancashire Sport for one or both of these reasons. To use pressure from fans to coerce me into giving new or extended contracts. To flag out publicly they’re available to other clubs.'

He also admitted that he hadn't spoken to the manager and his assistant after yesterday's win, before claiming last season's relegation was down to some 'poor decisions' made by the management and himself.

'They failed. In football getting relegated threatens a club. Last season was about p*** poor decisions and management. Including my decisions,' he wrote.

'I’m not replacing them. I’m replacing me,' he added.

With Andy's middle name being ' intransigent '.. as we all know, my fears are that he will not under any circumstances move from this reported position !.
As for 'The Management '... ???

Re: Bits & Bobs

I was shocked to read the post by Dav1d I hadn't heard that there was any serious problems although I did realise that last season's abysmal performances did disappoint many supporters but I don't think that Andy lost the support of the majority of the fans. To be honest I heard a great deal more complaint of the management.
If the club is up for sale I fear the future of the club when I think back to what position the club was in under all of the previous owners.

Christies Child 22-10-2023 12:57

Re: Bits & Bobs

IF as seems to be a possibility that your club may be for sale then i hope for your sake that it is a smoother transaction than that we have had and are still experiencing BUT for me Accy is far more of an attractive proposition from a buyer looking to do a Wrexham style take over where an organisation wants to milk their purchase from a marketing and media point of view. Problem with that is that a buyer could soon get bored and put the club back onto the market and that could lead to the footballing side becoming of less importance.

Bit surprised Owen Devonport leaving so soon after making his debut. Always thought he was one for the future.

Agree, Haggis. Presume he just wants to play, somewhere. Good luck to him.

Hilarious. Two great finishes though, the first with the nonchalence of 92-era Paul Beck, the second definitely reminiscent of late-70s Haggis.

Good to see Emerich Poilly being loaned out to Clitheroe.
He looks a very good prospect and I hope this is the start of him also moving up towards first team appearances.

If the link doesn't work, here's a copy:

SIR – With regard to goalkeeping techniques in football (Letters, February 15), I well remember attending a match in around 1960 at Accrington Stanley, then in the fourth division. They were playing Doncaster Rovers, and I was standing right behind the goal.

All through the match the Doncaster goalkeeper and the Accrington Stanley centre forward, both very large in stature, would have an enormous battle every time the ball was crossed into the penalty area. In about the 89th minute the ball came in and both players jumped for it. I could see that the goalkeeper was deliberately not watching the ball and focusing on the centre forward. He then punched the centre forward in the face, and the man fell like a cut tree to the ground. The goalkeeper immediately turned around, picked up his flat cap and walked towards the dressing room without waiting for the referee to give him his marching orders.

I would think Coleman / Bell will easily find a club before the start of next season but, what they wont find easy is when results aren't going their way.
Supporters at Stanley, in general, are very patient with the management staff when results don't always come our way. At most other clubs its a results business only and any slippage in results will end up with the supporters on the managers back and i don't think Coleman could cope with that.

I must agree with you watchdog you only have to remember what happened when he went to Rochdale.

It crossed my mind that they might end up at tier 5 or 6. Does in part depend on who in Leagues 1 or 2 gets a P45 this side of August

You’d also need an Assistant to the Assistant!
But a straight swap would OK. :)
