No problems with Lincoln fans Too many Blackpool fans still don't want to behave "sensibly" :( Unless they've been re-trained recently:) |

Re: Bits & Bobs
The only team I want to succeed from the current crop of promotion contenders are Morecambe.
From almost dropping into the abyss last season, to being on the verge of the play-offs is an amazing achievement. Good luck to the Shrimps tomorrow against Tranmere. We need you in L1 - if only to ensure us 6 points next season. |
Re: Bits & Bobs
i for one have missed my yearly visit to morecambe. you can keep tranmere for a start. been there once and ticked a ground off. doubt i,d ever return.
|
Re: Bits & Bobs
I think most of us will be temporary Morecambe fans this afternoon - come on The Shrimps

[QUOTE=Outback Ozzy;1254163]Why on earth would Stanley sell him to Rotherham, when they have just been relegated to League One. That makes no sense, even at £1.5 million,
apart from a wage rise it makes no sense for him doing a sideways move either. he,ll be playing in the same division with a high expectation from the fans there because of his price tag. more pressure on him for a few quid extra. |

Rotherham haven't got that sort of money. Cardiff have snapped up Collins on a free from Luton and Derby have they got anything ??? There will be interest but price tag may deter clubs. Personally I hope it does. Another season with us will do him no harm at all. We just need to tie him in contract wise. |

Congrats to Morecambe on getting promoted! Great job by Derek Adams and the players. Looking forward to some great games against em next season!
|
Re: Bits & Bobs
Yeah, congratulations to Morecambe - in the end they were lucky that dodgy ref Bobby Maddely fell for O'Sullivan's dive & awarded them a penalty or they'd still have been playing now, still it's 6 points guaranteed next season so no complaints from me :D

But really? Was Madley given that match as reward for his outstanding performances this season? |
Re: Bits & Bobs
Thanks for the congratulations.
We have had some shocking decisions from referees during the season otherwise we would have had automatic , maybe win it. So a bit of swings and roundabouts today so we won't complain ! Nice to have the derby match back on the agenda and Sunderland and Sheff.Weds. |

Re: Bits & Bobs
By Jove! Well done Morecambe!

The inevitable dodgy decisions by our friend Bobby yesterday helped the Shrimps to achieve their dream of promotion & I'm happy for them but on the other side of the coin, it surely begs the question why - with VAR being available at Wembley - it wasn't used in any of the play off finals when there is so much at stake, smacks of total disrespect to all teams beneath the precious premiership to me

Strange goings on at Morecambe, Derek Adams has resigned & is expected to be named as Bradford's new manager later today. Maybe he didn't fancy life in league 1???
|
Re: Bits & Bobs

Re: Bits & Bobs
A few Bradford fans in work were saying a week or two ago that this was going to happen.
The expectations at Bradford are massive, so Derek Adams is going to have to hit the ground running if he's going to last. I don't think anyone can blame him for having higher ambitions. |
Re: Bits & Bobs
Don't know what the fuss is about.
Manager does well gets a club promoted and improves his CV. Someone else comes along better set up more money etc. Why would he turn it down ? Also ask Morecambe why he wasn't tied to a contract if they wanted to hold on. |
Re: Bits & Bobs
What fuss he,s had a success at Morecambe and he moves on for more money at a " bigger " club even the Shrimp,s forum aren't fussed wishing him all the best and thanks for the promotion, but he,s not universally liked his surly interviews, falls out with himself. Decent manager he,s proved that but doesn't appear bothered about being liked hope we never get him. Bradford is a poisoned chalice at the moment match made in heaven.
|
Re: Bits & Bobs
Paul Smyth (68m) and Dion (88m) both on as NI subs in Ukraine! :)

Re: Bits & Bobs
[QUOTE=andyd;1254394]What fuss he,s had a success at Morecambe and he moves on for more money at a " bigger " club
years ago a manager who moved down a division to another club was thought as making a backward step. if he had moved to a so called bigger club in division 1 it would have been thought of as a good career move. now its just a money move and no more. bradford fans must realize this and he,ll only be there if he is successful till a better money option is on the table somewhere else. |

Morecambe have announced their new manager, Stephen Robinson - ex Motherwell & Oldham. Never heard of him myself but wish him & the shrimps luck (he does know they never beat us, right?)

Portsmouth reputedly interested in Matt Butcher he,s a boyhood Pompey fan it would of course require a fee as he his under contract a million plus might put them off but as he,s from that area could if interest is real be tempted what's everyone,s thought,s?

Did anyone hear the rumours about Jon Melish ?
He didn't turn up for the first two days of training at CUFC [despite being under contract ] and is rumoured to be engineering an exit to a North West based League One club. Youd be looking at somewhere in the region of 150 - 200k [ They don't need to sell for the money as they posted a 750k profit last year ] Now doesn't seem like Andy or Coleys MO but Accys name has certainly been mentioned. |

Oh dear entire Sheffield United first team to isolate for 10 days after 2 players picked up the virus on a preseason tour of Spain the 2 affected have been left in Spain the rest in isolation will have to train alone at home, bad news on the eve of the new season can see lots of interuptions especially at the start then hopefully settle down.
