Re: Bits & Bobs
Rumours doing the rounds about 2 or 3 championship clubs watching Jerry Yates at Blackpool and could be preparing £2 million pound bids in the summer, what does that do for Dion,s value?
|
Re: Bits & Bobs
Is Dion,s contract up in the summer as he signed a 2 year deal when he arrived in 2019 can't remember if he has signed a new deal or not hope he has. Think there is an option for a further year built in not quite sure how these work exactly.

Yates has championship games on his cv already and is hardly a secret to most scouts. Hes under contract until 2023 and the club has a twelve months option beyond that. Means the price to prise him away will be more than Dion's. Understand Dion's contract expires this summer but the club has a twelve months option which they will certainly exercise. |
Re: Bits & Bobs
He,s under scrutiny to me because of the goals he,s scored this season less currently than Dion in the championship he was hardly prolific 2 in 47 it all comes down to what clubs are prepared to pay for any particular player Dion might not even be on any ones radar but being close to or could end up leading scorer his value will as a striker that I presume will soar.
|
Re: Bits & Bobs
Dion's price will actually drop the nearer his contract heads towards the end.
That's why it is alleged there's big offers for Yates because of the length of his contract. I don't believe those figures by the way. |

However as happened with Clark if you go into that final year the player can start talking to other suitors from January onwards and every month towards expiry the value drops. Nothing to stop Accy offering him a new contract any time. Whether accepted or not is another matter. |

Dion's contract expires I believe June 21. The club will exercise its option extending that to June 22. Dion does not need the club's permission to speak to anyone from January 22 onwards and may do a pre contract deal effective June 22. If clubs want to speak before Jan 22 then of course has to be through the club. |

Re: Bits & Bobs
tapping up players whilst still under contract has gone on from the early days of football. it always will and will never end. size and money always win in the end and the bigger and stronger eat up those lower down the food chain. stanley being very low in the food chain need to be quite wary just to survive and use everything and anything just to do so.
|
Re: Bits & Bobs
Its a tricky one for us.
Just got to decide what you want for an asset and stick to it. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. I remember when Clark was getting towards the end of his contract we decided to put him on the transfer list in January and circulated the 72. Plenty of interest but in the end when told the fee it was no thanks we'll wait until the end of the season and get him for nothing. |
Re: Bits & Bobs
From the BBC:
Baraclough added that Dion Charles will make his senior debut against the Americans at Windsor Park. The Accrington Stanley striker, who has scored 17 goals this season, was left out of the matchday squad to face Italy. "Dion will play some part in it and it is important that we get to have a look at him. He has been chosen for a reason," said Baraclough. |

Dion is on the bench for Northern Ireland's game against the USA today, really hope he gets the chance to play but if he does, please please don't let him get injured

I think theres every chance we will. As the value drops the personal terms for the player increase. Dion has time on his side but has to add another 15 plus next season. |

Re: Bits & Bobs
is this a youth team tournament as i cannot see many stanley first teamers being fit enough to play in it. same for play off chasing stockport at this time of the season. pity as they deserve to have some success with their idea.

Re: Bits & Bobs
Just watching EFL on Quest, in particular all the bother that went on in the Sunderland v Oxford game & guess who was in charge? No other than our friend Trevor Kettle - apparently it was his decision making (or lack of) which allowed things to boil over on the pitch which then led to events in the tunnel at half time & at the end of the game - how he is still in the position he is defies belief

I’m sure you know of what you write but if that’s actually how the Refereeing Authorities operate it’s beyond belief. From what I’ve seen (Wimbledon!) and read about Mr. Kettle, he’s not been fit for league football for some time. But have the Ref authorities knowingly let him go on ruining teams’ chances because they don’t have the cojones to demote him? |

I'm sure that it's iFollow's and not the club's fault, but the next match on the club's 'fixtures' page is shown as Kings Lynn Town v Chesterfield. Clicking on it takes you to a National League table!

Is everyone now a Chesterfield fan?
This isn’t just the iFollow links. This is corrupting Stanley’s web site. It may not be iFollow but whoever hosts Stanley’s (and Chesterfield’s?) web site. |
Re: Bits & Bobs
I’ve emailed the club and ‘chatted’ to iFollow, who tried to tell me it’s been fixed. But looking at the Stanley web site, it hasn’t. Still shows Chesterfield v King’s Lynn as the next fixture!
As things stand I won’t be able to watch the Wimbledon game. If everyone else has the same problem Stanley are not going to get much money on Saturday! |
Re: Bits & Bobs
I've messaged the club via the website to let them know. Lets hope its srted for Saturday.....

Ben Kay joins the groundsmen staff from Chorley fc to assist Buzzer with the pitch and new training facilities, I think the acquisition of a training facility and another top groundsman in Ben are one of the most important steps as a club we have made, it will hopefully prevent the Wham pitch from being trained on and keep it like a bowling green to suit Stanley's style. This season as well as all the injuries the Wham pitch as cut up badly and it affects our home games no reflection on Buzzer who does a sterling job but the amount of games this season played in some awful conditions plus training on it has spoilt it hopefully a thing of the past.

Been announced tonight that due to Prince Philip's funeral being at 3pm next Saturday, all EFL games will change their kick off time's as a mark of respect. Whether that will mean an earlier or later time for our match at Rochdale remains to be seen

Having read through it a couple of times in an attempt to awaken memories of the day. It is now superfluous to requirements , and is available to any of our avid collectors !. The programme is in excellent condition... just pm me to arrange a collection/delivery . |

Re: Bits & Bobs
Bit ironic that the Premier league are up in arms about these latest super league plans didn't think twice when they broke away in 92, just shows what these clubs think of their stadium fans though when they think that a global TV audience will be better for the coffers, any that sign should be deducted points and relegated before they leave.

Gary Neville got it spot on for me when he had his 9 minute rant on sky sports at Old Trafford this aft!
|
Re: Bits & Bobs
The absolute nerve of these so called big six they sign up to play for enormous amounts of money thus able to pay even more extortionate players wages and say they will still partake in the Premiership, kick em out bar all their players from any other competition and let's get football here back to a fan supported less motivated by greed and who can pay the most for vastly overrated players, those six clubs real supporters should be disgusted.
|
Re: Bits & Bobs
hope these 6 clubs from england and the 6 others all lay 3g pitches to make the new competition totally plastic.
