My pics : Featuring him in his element (note his "trophy" dirty knee in photo 3) and getting down to business with a bluebell by cobbled steps later. Interspersed with my more general pics of the gorgeous bluebell display in Spring Woods. Finally a short verse dedicated to the Lancashire witches which is in the carpark where we stopped to have a rather nice ice-cream. :hothothot

All these were taken around Jumbles Reservoir. Nos 2 and 4 were on the opposite bank of the res. I've got to get used to the settings yet.

Wow - nice shots Frank!

It has often been said that I am a man who is outstanding in his field, and the bigger and the further away the field the better.

Also now that my identity has been revealed I am forced to go back to the disguise I adopted a few years ago when I was on the run, blond wig, pink chiffon frock, clutch bag and flip flops, I am sure I will be invisible once again.

You do realise Frank with those specifications, and 20 mega pixels you are going to have to go into training for throwing yourself about a bit, and jumping into streams. Big cameras carry big responsibilities, I started at home just falling off the chair, and sitting in the sink, the wife got a bit narked, she was trying to wash the pots.

On a serious note,nice camera

Out & about earlier with the Hound went to the old airfield, plenty going on if you're a bit of an aviation Anorak (http://yoursmiles.org/msmile/pozitive/m1211.gifyes I fit into that category) so it was piccys all round of Airyplanes! http://yoursmiles.org/psmile/pilot/p0503.gif

Airyplanes - Boeing Stearman x4 (Incidentally the pilot was a young Lass) - Piper Super Cub x3 - Robin DR 400/180R & for those of you not interested in Airyplanes one of the Hound after her assistance with the decorating (paint on her head & lugs)

Max is good at painting, I was painting the fence panels between us and next door with red cedar and the tops of the panels were wet. So he had to put his paws up and rest his chin to watch. He ended up witha thin red line all across the front of his white chest.

Today I cast off the domestic shackles and burgered off for the day....to Halifax.
1 - 5 have been edited to HDR with snapseed.
5 - 10 are just how they came.
1) looking through one of the archways in the town centre.
2) the clock tower on the Town Hall
3) In at the top door of the Market hall(the Market Hall is very similar toAccringtons....but more stall inside)
4) Galvanized buckets - you don't see them very often.
5) the clock inside the Market hall. I can't remember if this has always been there or if it is a new clock done in an old style.
(it is 50 years or mores ince I was last in Halifax so it is all very hazy in my memory)
6) Clock tower of the Town Hall...seems to go on into space.
7) Town hall clock tower viewed from a distance.
8) this is getting to be a bit of a theme......the clock in the Market Hall.
9) that archway from a different angle.
10) The Market Hall....I did wait for the crowds to pass along :)

I had a very enjoyable day...but the bus ride gave me a square BTM.

I reall went to Halifax so that I could go and see the Piece Hall and take photographs there.
Alas, the piece Hall is closed and will be so until 2016.....it is being refurbished. I could be an angel by then!
To say I was disappointed is a bit of an understatement.

I had to console myself with Fish and Chips! :D:D:D

Despite it being Yorkingshire, Halifax is a pretty lively place with plenty going on. We visited a couple of years back with friends from over that way, picked up some "Proper bar'gins" on the market too! :)

Oh, I didn't go to shop......I went to take pictures.
Had only enough for some snap and a drink on me......that way I'm not tempted.
I will certainly go back......and one day soon when the sun is shining I will stop off at Hebden Bridge. That place was jumping today. There was some kind of shenanigans going on up on Stoodley Pike.....people were going up there with their picnic baskets......and the brass band was lugging their Tuba's up there too.
The canal was full of colourful barges.....people and dogs were taking in the gentle May sunshine...in fact I would have got more pics had I jumped off the bus there today.......Piece Hall was calling me.....just to tell me it was shut. Shame it whispered in my deaf ear.

It was one of those 'accidental' shots....totally uncontrived.
I should be more used to looking for things like that....but to be truthful I was proper miffed that I could not snap The Piece Hall.
Everything else seemed a bit second best....and yet I had a good day.

Today in Pictures, an earlier conversation put the Coppice in mind, so that's where I went.

1. Over the top of the second lodge toward Spire Farm.
2. The Spanish variety, an introduction for gardens has now escaped into the wild.
3. Worship and windmills.
4. This years seeds, next years weeds.
5. Arboreal mushrooms.
6. I was pushing, so had to make it snappy.
7. Does my bum look big on this.
8. I'm in the bushes.
9. Cotton Grass.
10.The top is now put to use in more than one way, although I pick up my "stuff" in a bag, should they.

Now you mention it it is deer, I never gave it a thought, I rely on my spell checker to point out when I am sprelling my worms wrong, and it wouldn't would it, had it been an antelope the checker would have brought my attention to it. I have never seen one so don't think I will be spelling it any time soon.

I frequent that area on a casual basis, so next time I will sit quietly, and make a noise like a carrot, I was in that area yesterday, there would be no chance of wildlife spotting, the area was very busy with walkers, dogs swimming in the lodges, horses with riders, low flying planes, two different types buzzing the top. Plus there was a little fat chap throwing himself on the floor taking pictures.

That 50 times zoom is a bit dangerous, there is no hiding from that.

Nice water effects - ever so slightly blurred. My fave is number nine - almost a painting by Constable :)

Super photos Margaret! I feel like I'm there exploring with you. Bet the fish and chips were good too :)

The fish was good, the chips a bit ordinary(and I didn't eat many of them).

Airports are fascinating places - so many stories unfolding. Many, many years ago I was meeting my then boyfriend at Toronto airport after 3 months apart. A newspaper photographer snapped us unawares. He did contact us for permission just before it was published, and the caption was "did you miss me?". I wonder what was going on with the family being dropped off, or the young men sharing a ciggie?
That pizza looks really good!

Looks like Di doing a "Selfie" at the airport. :)

Manky weather today, grey & overcast, the odd flurry of sunshine & humungous dolloops of big mans rain with the odd crack of thunder thrown in for good measure. That being the case, Ikky boy & Hound weren't staying out over long! :)

Managed these though:- "Feld Hase" at work today x2 - A traipse across the old Airfield - Grimlin on some bunker remnants.

Today in Pictures, still on restricted duties so a walk around a wet park was the limit for today, it was raining, so wet flowers was the best as I could manage.

1. A true Geranium.
2. Ransoms(wild garlic).
3. There is a small flock of Bluebells at the top end of the park.
4. If this was scratch and sniff you would smell a sweet earthy smell, enhanced by the wet conditions, (hawthorn)
5. Droplets on a cherry.
6. Who is hiding from the rain.
