I think that if no-one else comes inbetween Sue and Rindy today they will be on exactly the same points so that means it would be all down to tomorrow -a real nail-biter till the end.

Not sure but I got 8/10 so have a feeling it might have been Literature I seem to recall doing well at that one.

For those who doubt my credentials as a dwarf (see yesterday's musings on Lord of the Rings) I attach a couple of pics to show my lack of stature. Both are from the 1990s but I haven't grown since (probably shrunk!).

One shows me dwarfed (!) by a 10ft-ish Scotch thistle in my garden in Wiltshire, in the other I am with my pub quiz team in Salisbury on presentation night. I'm the shortass on the end. Those were the days! :)

Hope all you Trivial Players have a good end to the year and that it goes out with a bang and some fireworks - have enjoyed the banter!

As my 10th placing this month is a little disappointing and my own NY Eve promises to be a bit of a damp squib -I am about to absent myself mentally to an undisclosed location on a sunny island. There I plan to brush up my golden tan, sit in a comfy armchair at my favourite tapas bar eating Boquerones, Pimientos del padron and other tasty morsels while sipping on cool glasses of Veuve Cliquot Ponsardin Rosé, as the sun slips down for the last time in 2011 over the fishing boats in the harbour.

Why all this? You may ask.

In true Drama-Queen style I feel the need to recharge my Giddy-batteries ready for next year's quiz where i intend to become a force to be reckoned with. After all "Tomorrow is just another day.";):D

By the way, if anyone wants to join me, there is room at my table and the Champagne's on me!

As it stands at the moment, Dave, there's only 1 point in it and the way the point system works that could change depending on how many people play, so I'm counting on nothing till I check the league table tomorrow.

Whichever way it ends up it could'nt have been closer....well done!

No good at literature thats what happened , i read quite a lot but not the classics and 100% not poetry.That may make me a philistine but never mind, give me general stuff and sport , geography , science etc and i will do ok and its the speed thing i need to work on as well. I will just keep plodding along try and keep my nose in front of certain people:D

I was really pleased with mine - and I lost about 5 seconds as my mouse blocked on the 1st question and then I misread a word and lost time as i couldn't thik of the answer -will tell tomorrow so I won't influence today's final players!

The same question appears to be repeated twice today though - very odd.

They'll come up eventually -in the meanime you just have to get used to the type of question and try to get faster -there are some real speed merchants who play! They have the advantage because they've been playing for years.

Keep at it and don't get demoralised SteveR - every dog has his day, as they say. Even i manage to win about one day every month and it's fun to joke about how you're doing.:rolleyes::)
