I enjoyed my visits there, especially the hanger with the preserved working planes.
Since my partner moved back to Todmorden we’ve not been back since.

Has the textile museum re-opened or is the event you mentioned a one off.
I know it closed the same day as Queen Street mill.
They were two of my local attractions because I served my time as a mill engineer.

I agree mate. I’ve used monochrome a lot in my photo for impact.
You may have seen some of my street art photos which I posted last year which featured elderly gentleman’s craggy faces. Two were sold pretty quick.
But I’m a steam engine fanatic and I would have preferred to see the loco in it’s true colours. Just my opinion. Not knocking the photo.

That’s Water street. There used to be a newsagent who sold dinky toys on there and 70 plus years ago my mum used to buy my dinky toys from him.
I’ll be walking up there later today to the dentist.

As you go up Water street in the direction of the photo up until 1888 you would be in Yorkshire. Over the river, which is Walsden Water, you would be in Lancashire.
The Town Hall behind you has statues depicting Lancashire cotton workers on one side and Wool on the other. The river flows right under the Town Hall and Market before joining the Calder. Originally it was the only town hall to be in two counties at once.
The boundary was changed in 1888 to follow the Town boundary so Todmorden became all Yorkshire.
Strangely enough it has a Oldham post code and telephone soaking code.
I was born in Todmorden early 1939.

This is Samson(the outdoor cat, who has now come into the fold) with his arms(OK...I know they are front legs) around Rufus on the bottom of our unmade bed.

Samson is the stray we have been feeding in our garage for over a year.
He now comes in and makes himself very much at home.
His purr is like a jet plane and he smiles. I know you will thik this is fanciful, but he does. He loves to be talked to and combed and he gets on well with the kitties.

I went upstairs to make the bed and there they were just snuggling up together.
The pic was taken on my iPad (so not the best quality)as I thought if I went to get my camera, they would move and the show would be lost.

I spent the day at WWT Martin Mere watching the birdies, so I've more images than I know what to do with... I took 350ish and then shortlisted that down to 80 or so ones that I really liked...
