Are we starting the photo compition again in the New year? :hidewall:

Re: Today in pictures
I want to ask a question and Davemac you can tell me to mind my own beeswax if you want.
Arta poorly Lad....dusta need a nurse to come and collymoddle thee? Or are your camera's bust? What all of 'em? I have missed seeing your ramblings and the nature changes in our local flora. If you are off your legs...I still have connections in the nursing fraternity...or better still I could come and do your bed bath myself :) |

So as you will appreciate not much of a window for my playtime, I can only hope things take a turn towards a more relaxed new year, but thanks again for the concern, and at the first opportunity I hope to make a break for the wide open spaces and put the results on here, Merry Christmas and a new year that is pleasant for us all. |
Re: Today in pictures
Blooming heck. I thought I had a plateful, but you have two dinner plates and a side plateful.
Congratulations on becoming a G thingy(I really didn't appreciate my foray into the world of G'ness. It was never on my 'to do' list...well being 14 in my head it wouldn't) As for the frozen shoulder...I hope you are fixed now. Horrible thing to have. I hope your wife gets her op soon and that you have got all your troubles out of the way for the whole of 2017(a bit like shopping in advance). I wasn't being nosy(well, perhaps a little)...was just a wee bit worried you were off your legs rather than being kept in at playtime. Every good wish to you and yours Dave...hope you have a Christmas you can enjoy. |
Re: Today in pictures
At the time you don't think about it, you just get on with it, its only when you look back you think flippin eck, but back is not the direction we are going, so hopefully we can all look forward to a better 2017, one way or another that's the only direction we have, so make the best of today and lets all have a happy new year, or at least as happy as is possible.

Re: Today in pictures
Yes, you are right.

As mentioned elsewhere, we were down south trying (mostly unsuccessfully) to find a white snowy Christmas! Despite all that, we had a few photo opportunities of which I'll be posting the next couple of days as compilations. :)
So Boxing day we went to Wasserburg am Inn, The river Inn, with an exceptionally low water level (x2) - Wasserburg am Inn - A paddling Mongling (x2) - Marion & Mongy with Wasserburg backdrop. Tues 27th off to Rottach-Egern by Tegernsee, & up the "Wallberg". The ascent in a "Cable-car" (x3) Further adventures will be posted tomorrow. ;) |

I wasn't expecting that .. was talking to her for ages while the spugster chose all the fudge ... :D by the way that hog roast shop is highly recommended it was really good ... if you go to Edinburgh its about halfway down on Rose street .. :D |

Go for a day out on the train .. train from accy to preston .. preston to Edinburgh .. and back again ..train station is bang in the middle of Edinburgh so your right where everything is .. its 2 1/2hrs from preston to Edinburgh .. |
Re: Today in pictures
We went by train on our visit. It nearly put my lights out pushing the chair up that big hill.
I needed two ambulance men and oxygen when I got to the top. :) |
Re: Today in pictures
the spugster has threatened me with hiking up that big hill they call arthurs seat .... he says the views from the top are wonderful .. but he did say he would take me up the easy way ... and not the direct route ... he says the direct route would either kill me or it would kill him getting me back down ...:D

I think you might have been a fish in a previous existence. :) Oh and it is selfless of you to go out and get thoroughly wet just to bring us these views of the places you visit...eh, lad thi blood's worth bottlin' |

Before leaving Newcastle today I had some time to kill but also had early check out so my bags was with me. So asked at the castle gate if they would look after my luggage whilst I took the tour, they said they would and I went walking around the castle. Picked up another gift to go with the ones from Brighton and London for my mother who was diagnosed with liver cancer a few weeks ago.

Too wet to venture out.
Now i know that Dave's maxim is 'there's no such thing as bad weather...only the wrong clothes'...but it is too wet to turn a hound out. Still it has given me time to do some cutting and gluing. A couple of masculine birthday cards...with verses to match. It was himselfs birthday on Friday(he got the DIY card) and it is my nephews birthday next Wednesday(he gets the shiny bike card and verse) |

Re: Today in pictures
Yes, of course you are right son, but my other half is blooming notorious for spending hours and hours out the back dismantling pallets for burning... So it isn't really a DO it Yourself card, but a DESTROY it Yourself card...he was quite chuffed with it, especially the verse.
And you have no idea how long it took me to stamp, colour and fussy cut those tiny tools out to go on the card.I guess you have no qualms about the shiny bike card then? : D |
Re: Today in pictures
Oh, and ANY card that he got for me would be a surprise. It would not have had anywhere near as much thought or effort put into the choosing of it either.
He is not known for getting me cards and presents. |
