We've had an easy winter over here in Southern Ontario so far: not much snow, and tolerably cold. A couple from yesterday:
1. An afternoon snow squall seen from the comfort of my window
2. Miss Pris thinks: "Wake me up when Spring comes!"
3. What a difference a day makes. Today's drive to the next town: minus 10 and sunny.
4. Another view from inside the car. I love the red dogwood bushes - they give a bit of colour to the side of the road in winter.
5. We managed to fit in a Geocache hunt so down the steps I go
6. Hubby waits at the top
7. My cell phone GPS points to 'ground zero' - the container is behind the tree. I didn't linger - stayed just long enough to sign the log, then back to the warmth of the car.

Cold, wet & miserable over here, so photie opportunities are limited to through the window at the birds in the garden.

The resident Fezzy prowling his range, that includes our garden x3 - A Green Woodpecker doing the rotovating work so I won't have to come spring x3 - Some Spadgers ready to descend onto the feeder - Best way to spend a soggy afternoon. :)

Thanks,I know what you mean about the burdock heads, they were attached to the dogs legs, and up the length of my sleeve which then rubbed them onto the trim of the car when I lifted the dog on the back seat, and then when I took my boots off at home they were snagged on the laces. The way these plants spread their seeds around I am surprised that there are not more of them about.

That`s more sensible than soft, get lost out there and you`re in big trouble, we stuck to the West Highland Way.

I would love to go up to the highlands, but right now circumstances prevent me.
I wish that Ma was fit enough to travel. The two of us have had some corking breaks away.....but never North of the border. This is not really by choice.
It has just been what has been available when we have been able to take off.
Until things get better, I have to make do with where the photographers take me.

We're just a wee bit jealous over here in Southern Ontario: the dreaded Polar Vortex has made an appearance. The past couple of days started at minus 26 degrees, and felt much colder with the wind chill. Winter came in like a lamb for us, but is having the last roar.

Its all a bit mixed up with the weather, there was a snow warning out (it hasn't yet ) and the temperature is down around zero at times ( I know you get minuses in double figures ), yet flowers and stuff are still trying to get the season started.

A typical winter's day in Southern Ontario: driving to the next town to get some computer stuff. I hardly ever walk when it's this cold and nasty out.
1. Check the Temp. - brisk!
2. Miss Pris is not amused.
3. On the way - a bit of snow.
4. A bit more snow - not much this year, thankfully (so far :))
5. A shelter for children while they wait for the school bus.
6. Another one - looks like a little house!
7. Back to Georgetown. The McGibbon Hotel (built 1861) is going to be replaced by condos for rich mucky-mucks. Bah!
8. Ah - our favourite pub.
9. Just opened - time for a pint :)

Today at home having lunch, we were startled by a very loud police helicopter circling the Credit River valley. I'm guessing they're searching for a young man who's presumed drowned after a kayak accident on the weekend. They found his young girlfriend already. It's very, very sad. The young couple were probably encouraged by the recent spring-like weather, but the water is still very cold and dangerous.

Today was a walk around the turbines under almost Blue skies, yet despite the fine weather I still ended up with wet socks.

A walk down to the Calder from Memorial park, the nice weather brought out the crowds today.

All great shots - I can't choose a favourite. Did you place the floral tribute in number two, or was it already part of the landscape?

He really is well hidden. I'm tempted to hope that his intended meal got away, but then again he (or she) has to eat too.

Thanks Turtle, the flowers were already there, no obvious reason for them, maybe just a lost loved ones favourite viewpoint.

Only two from me today. Glad my window cleaner had been, it was too cold to go in my dressing gown to get the snap.
This chap is wanted for stealing fish from my neighbours garden pond.
He sat on her roof for ages, just looking then down he went and away with the fish.

Well captured, Gremlin. I'm glad he got the fish :)

Yesterday there was a nice little dusting of snow to greet the morning. Only about 6 inches for us, but neighbours to the north got far more. We can't complain, as its been a fairly easy winter (so far!)
The windscreen wiper blades were left up because we expected ice rain.
