And so it comes to an end, as all good things must do! Our last proper day in Denmark before the journey back to the land of daily grind!

Once more an idyllic little thatched cottage on Tasing - Capes Hoj Neolithic burial mound - The little fishing harbour at St.Joul, Tasing, looking towards the Langelands road bridge - Memorial to the crew of the RAF Short Stirling "EF 137" which was shot down by a night fighter & crashed into the shallow waters off the East coast of Tasing by Vemmenaes - Then off to Bagenkop on Langeland for a snap of the Church - The Wild "Exmoor" Ponies of Bagenkop - And their Cousins :D - The Baltics supposed to be calm! - A nose round Rudkobing - And a little two master coming into Spodsbjerg harbour.

Some beautiful pictures and they have brought back some happy memories of times down there.....though not the one where the seagull dropped a bum bomb on Ma's best navy blue coat.. It was ruined despite my best efforts.

Today is a departure in that "dads taxi" was brought into service again. Winfields sponsored a charity walk for the Rossendale Hospice and I snapped a few of the Winfields entrants and a few more. You will notice Ted Robbins in a few of the pictures, I didn't, I was that focused on the fancy dressed entrants I missed him altogether and only noticed him when he had been uploaded.

Hahhah! That certainly would be a challenge. Haven't seen any fireflies for a long time, sadly. When I first moved into my current place 25 years ago, I could look out the back door and see them under an old apple tree. Not any more though. The tree is gone, and too much development has taken place hereabouts.

You can try what I did once out in the country. Stand a torch up right on a wall shining straight up and lots of fireflies soon came into the beam. Only on that occasion I didn't have my camera with me.

A few cell phone pics from the last couple of weeks... I've been busy with various things, and never seemed to have a camera with me. Still, I made some attempts, but often seemed to miss what I was shooting for!
1. Can you see the Chipmunk? He's feasting on Service Berries.
2. The Heron Got Away.
3. Something got away from Miss Pris too (another chipmunk I think(
4. Hubby failing to find a Geocache (lots of raspberry canes though)
5. Neighbour's bunny stays very still - unlike the many wild ones I've seen but not captured with my camera yet.
6. Miss P says "Stop taking my photo or I'll swipe you one!"
7. Fairy Lake - another failed Geocache attempt.
8. Reflections of a clothesline
9. Ditto

Thank you Frank! You're the 'king of reflections', so I'm well complimented :)

Davemac: yes, it's nice and warm over here right now. It's going up to 29 or so today, although with a risk of thunderstorms. Fortunately I can get most anything I need to do, done in the morning when it's cooler, then retreat to an AC cooled house for the rest of the day. Still, it's weather like this that makes winter bearable for me :)

Calf Hey Reservoir leading to Musbury Heights before a ricochet off Lower Ogden Reservoir then back to Calf Hey. You will notice from the pictures that the walk also included dramatic changes in altitude but as I don't do selfies I am unable to show you the red colour I went followed by a blue colour.

Number 1: one of my favourite places and the geraniums are grand;
Number 5 in the graveyard has a melancholy mood that is helped by the rain;
All the flowers look so lush dressed out in raindrops. It's so hot here right now that some of that moisture would not go amiss :)

I took Aunty out today to her favourite park over here: Gairloch Gardens in Oakville. It was too hot for her to venture out of the car, (29 degrees and very humid) so we sat in air conditioned comfort (with the engine running) and chatted for a bit. Just seeing the lake (Lake Ontario) was somewhat cooling.

Back home in Georgetown afterwards I stopped at the potters guild to load a kiln, and spotted these scented beauties outside. Are they scented phlox? I don't know much about them myself.

It was a warm rainy day, the sort that you can feel the plants growing, and there was an earthy smell from the moist ground. Enjoy the nice weather whilst you have it, the nights over here are getting closer by 15 minutes a week now.

I like to think of it as a different set of options, as the nights close in it is easier to take sunset snaps, I don't do sunrise as its too early in the morning, if they moved it closer to the middle of the morning I might give it a go. Then as Autumn arrives we have the reds and browns of the leaves, Then, I know this is a problem over there, but I do like a bit of snow for the Christmas card type scenes.

House points for ID`s
1. This mornings red sky.
2. One from yesterday at RAF Leeming.
3. Double gold stars for first to ID this one.
4 & 5. That`s a big un.
6. New and old Battle of Britain T......s
7. New one on it`s own.
8. Just flying over.
9 & 10. My first sighting of one of these.

Today was a day that can only be described as extreme, when on the top the clouds descended with heavy rain and visibility vanished. Coming off the tops was like the descent in an airplane, total cloud then a glimpse of the ground, then dropping below it altogether. The up side to this was I had to take a path I had not used before just to get off the top, which resulted in the discovery of a mountain stream, and that reminded me of an advert for menthol cigarettes, but I will return when the weather is not as pants as it was today.

We've also got a mass of bestiary here abouts, here's a few from throughout the week enjoy.

Our House, out front - the mungous lawn that took me near on 2 hours to mow yesterday - Our house, out back - The Mongit (looking suitable put upon) by the ever play ready Niggy - Mrs Tiggywinkles German cousin (I know it's a bit fuzzy but the little scallywags can't half put a shift on) - A Field Hare that came & made itself comfortable in the garden Wednesday evening - A Wood Mouse on our rubble pile (renovations) rockery - So we gave it some nibbles - We've got "Furrys" at the bottom of the garden, noisily grappling their nuts! (from the 2 hazelnut trees) - Only 1 Beer tonight :( as tomorrow's a School day (Aye, it's a 1Ltr can :D).

Quite rural Dave?

Yes, I know that feeling. Clutter expands so that it fits the space available......and when it exceeds this you have to move to a bigger place.

Today was a day when it looked like it could drench us any minute, it didn't though, so Dean Clough under heavy skies.

Number 2 looks like the dreadedly invasive Purple Loosestrife - it's all over the place over here. I love the swans, although the one on the right seems to be saying "What the heck are YOU doing here!!" Hah hah

You are right it is Loosestrife, but I don't think it is very invasive over here, and is looked at as a source of food for butterflies. Those Swans were hissing at me, I think more because I didn't have bread.

I'm all in favour of butterfly food, but over here it's seen as seriously invasive. Here's a link if you're interested:

Just read the link, it is interesting how it got to Canada and is a European species. It does say that despite it being invasive it is still sold in garden centres.

Today is a yesterday outing, I was too clapped out after getting home that I hadn't the energy to lift my camera. So here is yesterdays effort with more mileage and altitude than normal.

Number 1 has me intrigued - what is that contraption? Number 7 is very picturesque! It must have been quite a hike :)

It looks like a sluice gate but appears to have been made into an ornament.

Its the original valve that was used between Calf Hey Reservoir and the one below, Ogden Reservoir, it dates to 1856 when the reservoir was built. Number 9 is the furthest we were from base camp and not a view I will be snapping any time soon.
