Re: Today in pictures
Yes, it does. I used to have a weeks holiday mid October(when I was working, that is) and it was always balmy.
You have to admit that over the last few days it is definitely cooler in the mornings and evenings......what you would expect of Autumn. |

It's called exify and is a good little tool, you see a shot you like and you can see the settings used to achieve it.

I have never used it to look at info on other people's photos though. Mainly used to recall where or when the photos were taken or if the photo is under or over exposed to see what had I done wrong. I almost always use full manual settings. |

Here`s the panoramic of yesterdays moon, had to align them myself, none of the panoramic programs I tried would do it, not perfect ( a bit of banding between a couple of the photos) but still quite happy with it.

Bored this afternoon waiting for the super moon to show I thought I would try a bit of modification to a couple of photos. Normally I just use my camera on manual and try to get the best results. I think a lot of good photos are spoilt by over cooking the contrast or highlighting colours so these are just for fun.
Resizing from Raw hasnt helped either. The Menai bridge does look really well on A3 paper though. |

Hope all goes well with the house. |
Re: Today in pictures
Thanks Margaret. There is a big summer house south facing with veranda.
Ideal for my lady friends art studio. We are still keeping this bungalow though. All the new furniture is paid for and waiting delivery. Exciting times for two older age pensioners. |

Re: Today in pictures
You can`t learn without experimenting but it`s all just a bit of fun/artistic license though, not to be taken too seriously.
|
Re: Today in pictures
I don't take it serious, I have messed about with the software a few times and know how to use it. I normally use the software to edit and convert Raw files. I like to take three using bracket and then merge them to get the best out of them. I bought the software a few years ago. It needs a tripod and remote shutter to get the best out of it, even using mirror up setting to elimate shake.
|
Re: Today in pictures
I`ve tried HDR too, not done it much for a while, if I remember correctly last one was an old train carriage.
Turns out I did three - post#12556 on this thread (page 838),I try to get it in one shot where I can though. |
Re: Today in pictures
It takes too much faffing about to use HDR in general photography, setting up a tripod etc.
Like you, I try to get it right with manual settings. Then cropping down or resizing to post here spoilts them. I've some cracking photos printed on gloss A3 which look rubbish posted here. |
Re: Today in pictures
Do you have a flickr account, perfect for seeing full size, or upload to this sites gallery I don`t think there is a file size limit there (might be wrong on that one though)
|
Re: Today in pictures
No I don't have a flicker account Gpick.
I have membership of two Facebook sites where I post full size files and I do a bit of photography for the Transport museum for their website and some they frame and put in the walls. I have seen some of my transport photos for sale on eBay by someone who has obviously copied them from the web, I copyright certain ones now. |
Re: Today in pictures
That's the problem with the Internet, some people think they can just help themselves to whatever they like from it.
|
Re: Today in pictures
It`s not just individuals either, I saw this a while back but it`s took me a while to find it again.

Re: Today in pictures
I know what you mean
Years ago before I knew what I was doing ( I was to bloody trusting) I let someone use a really good photo I had took of a re enactment over here next thing I know he had copyrighted it an was getting praised from the historical site Never again |
Re: Today in pictures
I don't think it works like that, the photographer has automatic copyright of their work unless they give it away as part of a contract. Allowing use doesn't give away copyright.
