I am pleased to say that my own cards have been printed and I received 10 today from the owner of our farm. They are like post 3146 on this thread -a great prompt from Margaret and my first time in print!:D

I worried when I saw this post too - it's the Catholic up-bringing - you immediately feel guilty even if you've done nothing wrong!:D

Me too......mine is the influence of a catholic upbringing,(I'm not catholic, but my mother is) where you are presumed guilty until you can prove your innocence beyond a shadow of a doubt.

As my camera is a compact I put it in my pocket without thinking, sometimes I dont see anything to snap, other times I do.

Annoying I was in Lancaster today, saw a few things I would have liked to snap and of course no camera - too many other things to put in my bag and not the right kind of pockets - I'm always afraid the camera will fall out.

I've had a big thunk, and I now thunk I know which house you are referring to, railway engine decor. Although I am a miserable git when it comes to the festive season, and can't wait for it to be over, I don't mind other people having their ding dong merrily on high, just keep it to yourself.

trying not to wander to far from the thread, this year I could have bought mince pies and fireworks at the same time as my Halloween costume.

Oh No Rob...not me...on the canal bank in the dark. Far too dangerous.
I'd be drinking with the little fishes.
If we get a dry evening I might walk up the road and take a pic. I know Dave has the same camers as me, and it doesn't seem to mind the water.....but me? Well, I'm still very chary about taking my camera out in wet weather.

1. Parked up and start point.
2. Looking down on Sabden.
3. Looks like its a bit mushy underfoot.
4. Never seen pink moss before.
5. Here its just walls and wilderness.

9. I think we have found him.
10. Here he is cast into a neolithic burial mound in 1327, he was a highwayman who was caught and decapitated, the inscription was put on the stone in the 60's. Follow the link to read the very interesting story, and realise it wasn't just witches up Pendle Hill.

By the time we were back at the car we were wet through to the knickers.

Great pictures again Dave......I'm getting a bit worried about you and your wet knickers:D
Hope you got some talcum powder for Christmas:)

It serves me right for wearing them on my head when it is raining. I don't use talcum, its too soft I use Ajax powder.

Like I always say, I wet my knickers so you don't have too.

Yep - a quick google shows it's still available - and Vim... though you have to look on the bottom shelf at the supermarket.

Yes... a super-boring day - must be if I'm driven to look up things like that!

The view you presented was the swimming pool, and said whales swam past, if you had said goldfish I might have believed you, but you cant get a whale in a pool, unless its one of those you blow up.

Didn't get the joke Dave -I'm a bit slow on the up-take at times! Mum actually went out and bought some binoculars yesterday down at a little shop in the village - no more whales have been sighted since! Typical  but we are enjoying watching the boats go by and birds that fly over from an Eagle park in the mountains not far away.

When I am taking pictures, and this happens a lot on the walks, bob either stops and stands still, of sits down and waits, this makes it easy to include in the picture.
No it wasn't me in the spar, dont use that shop.

2. Half way up, a watering hole.
3. the next section covers water coming off Hameldon Hill.
4. We progress towards the wet bits.
5. Signs of a past long since buried.
6. Moisture at its moistest.
7. The long view.
8. I'm doing the doggy paddle for this one.
9. Looking back from whence we came.
10. The return point, it will be dark soon

Today in Pictures, a poodle over Pendle, or a walk on the wet side, or I'm getting to old for this, or there is no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothing.

1. Thats the destination, the wooded bit.
2. Its a sign, I have received a sign.
3. How stuff survives in the open is a mystery.
4. A dry stone wall with bits sticking our, don't know why.
5. The overflow from Churn Clough Reservoir.
6. The passage of the overflow as it heads towards Sabden.
7. The jetty out to the centre pier, cant walk it, just poking my head through a gap.
8. Far side of the res, one of the streams that feeds the reservoir.
9. Heading back now, just a final wave before departing.
10. An old gnarled tree growing in the base of an old cart track.

Today in Pictures, only a barmpot would go out on a day like today.....................I'm a little barmpot tall and stout, heres my handle heres my etc.

1.Pass my crampons I'm going in.
2.Its a wooden motor bike and sidecar,......I know, its a gun carriage.
3.Thats a big sod.
4. I do like a lichen, but, I like a lichen on a Larch more.
5. And so to water, the roar off the water is a bit intimidating.
6. If I fall in here I will bob up at Southport.
7. I can't hear myself talk, its a good job I'm not talking, I am however doing duck impressions.
8. Should I be this low in the water.
9. The bottom reservoir appears to be compromised at the outflow.
10. Finally a much taken snap as we head down off the Coppice to the car.

and as this is my final contribution to this thread for this year, I would like to thank all viewers, contributers, and supporters of the thread. Also those of you that got cameras off Santa this year, we would like to see your snaps.

Dave you are right...only a barmpot would go out on a day like today.
I ventured only to Ma's(up Woodnook) and then never ventured out again.
Thank you for showing us so many places during this past year...and getting wet, so that we don't have to.
I have really enjoyed your contributions.

Thanks for your contributions throughout the year, and I will continue to get my socks and knickers wet, and perhaps other places not yet given to an attack of moisture, in search of the forbidden places not easily accessible, and perhaps places not yet visited by barmpots.

Today in Pictures, the worst walk I have done this year, when you can hear the noise of a sink plunger as you walk only a barmpot would carry on....all together....I'm a little barmpot tall and stout, here's my handle here's my etc.

1. I think my choice of a Hawaiian shirt and flip flops was a bad decision.
2. Will he charge ! I hope not I've only got two pounds.
3. Here we are in a muddy field looking down the length of Dean Clough reservoirs.
4. The first flower I have seen this year.
5. Its a Gorse of course.
6. Its a wall.
7. Its a Lichen, and I like a Lichen, but never lick a Lichen even if you like a Lichen.
8. You would not see this under normal conditions, you have to mooch, and I have a certificate in mooching.
9. As you will see from this, he has a muddy winkle.........ok you can stop looking now..............Oy, I said stop it.
10. Cones on a Larch, the light was going, so this was my last offering. Although the nights are getting shorter

I will tell you which button to use, but keep it to yourself as everyone will be having a go. When you have a picture in Photoscape ready for editing, above the resize button and levelling arrows there are four square buttons with diagonal colouring, the fourth button reverses each colour. Sometimes they appear as mine did, and some landscapes turn into infrared photos, an interesting button to play with.
