Not misfortunes Wyn absolute bloody stupidity, like whats happening at my club, but a club the size and standing of Rangers its mind blowing, I know its only Micky mouse football but the way money has been thrown about like confetti, just to out do your only opponents is daft and reckless. At Ewood its lack of promised investment and transparency that's the problem and its only going to end one way

Rather excessive, if all you have is a boil that needs lancing.

I think we should say goodbye to them.

Just as you'll be saying goodbye to the NHS, once your country votes for independence.

After which you'll be saying hello to your new health care system.

You fool yourself, you've never been right yet, until you accept that this country was left in a hell of a mess by your bosom buddy Gordon and his little Darling, then anything you post on here is futile, you only started post on politics after May 6th 2010, so obviously you were quite happy to cheer Gordon on while he was pouring the British economy down the toilet, more shame on you

I suspect they kept quiet because he management was unaware of the scale of the problem or they were trying to avoid a charge of criminal negligence thrown against them. The fact remains that this company was in the public sector at the time and that is something that you cannot deny.

Cashy there's nothing wrong with the human rights act, just the way its aloud to be used, it was never intended to allow criminals to get the vote or people living here without justification, its now probably the most misused legislation in use

1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity.

2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.

3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.

4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it!

5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that is the beginning of the end of any nation.

Wrong, whats not right is its been lumped together wi every other E.U. member, Some of those members dont really give a toss about human rights,so unless they all agree (very Unlikely) yeh can never change it. We need our OWN bill of rights.

Cashy even if we did have or own Bill of rights we would still be governed by the European act, its nothing to do with the EU, we would still come second best, its the European court that needs changing and made to stick to what it was first introduced for, not a charter for evading justice

Other countries ignore the human rights(as well as other EU legislation and rules) they don't like...nothing happens to them....but the UK is slavish in its adherence to the rules....I'm sure if it did something wrong it would dob itself in

It is long past the time when we should be looking out for the interests of our own people....rather than those who want to come and dip their bread in our gravy.

That's just it cashy you can't opt out, its nothing to do with the European Union, even if we were stand alone, people would still be able to take their case to the European court of human rights

Think the points Marge P made in post 1173, stem from this, I also received it as an e-mail from a friend, enjoy folks. :)

Subject: Fw: Lesson in Socialism

An economics professor at a local college made a statement that he had never failed a single student before, but had recently failed an entire class. That class had insisted that Obama's socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer.

The professor then said, "OK, we will have an experiment in this class on Obama's plan".. All grades will be averaged and everyone will receive the same grade so no one will fail and no one will receive an A.... (Substituting grades for dollars - something closer to home and more readily understood by all).

After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B. The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy. As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied little.

The second test average was a D! No one was happy.
When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F.

As the tests proceeded, the scores never increased as bickering, blame and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else.

To their great surprise, ALL FAILED and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great, but when government takes all the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed.

Could not be any simpler than that.

These are possibly the 5 best sentences you'll ever read and all applicable to this experiment:

My sister e-mailed just the 5 sentences.........she probably thought I wouldn't read the rest.

Re: The Tories

Praise be to the Lord!...here's the original quote by Adrian Rogers the Pastor of a Baptist Church of Memphis Tennesse who died in 2005 (and not widely known as an "expert on economics :D

“You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.”

By the late Dr. Adrian Rogers, 1931- 2005, former Pastor Bellview Baptist Church, Memphis, T

Pastor Adrian Rogers on Socialism

Maybe the Pastor did not take into account a government that has a policy of creating unemployment by throwing an extra half a million people on the dole!

Maybe you should do a little research on what you get in the mail before you take it as "Gospel" :)

Obama was not even on the radar when this god fearing Pastor made his speech before 2005...like I say maybe you should do more research before posting total kak.

DaveinGermany 16-03-2012 05:17

Re: The Tories

Research not required Mancie, I didn't say anything in one direction or the other, just that, this is what I received in a mail, the origins of which are irrelevant it is the content which is important, something my friend, you sometimes appear to forget when you post your "Kak". ;)

Still, thank you for confirming the texts author, but again you're overlooking the fact that the content calls into question your dogmatic faith in labour/Socialism & in doing so you've happily assisted (unwittingly) all those who'd pull your arguments apart every time, so in your own words "Do some more research". One-upmanship is an awkward game to play fella. :)

why would I need to research anything?

I posted something which I thought was of interest....something to stimulate discussion.
I didn't cut and paste some sensationalist headline like some members do....no names....no pack drill.

It seemed to me to have some seeds of truth in it, where ever it came from.

Margaret Pilkington 16-03-2012 06:33

And DaveinGermany posted an explanation of why socialism doesn't work in terms even the simplest person can understand.....thanks Son!

The pastor wasn't taking into account any government.

He was just stating why socialism doesn't work, if you really want the reasons, you only have to look at sentences 2 and 3......but my guess is you don't want the reasons, as they take away all credibility from you arguments.

Mancie does not want to listen to anything which contradict his stupid left wing ideology, you should know that by now Margaret, socialism doesn't work because those who profess it won't let it
